Strange String comparison problem (python script)

Hi folks, this is my python script: request=context.REQUEST user=request['AUTHENTICATED_USER'] print "user: ", user, "<br>" print "container", container.getId(), "<br>" print "context: ", context.getId(), "<br>" if user == context.getId(): print "names match, upload ok" else: print "username does not match context id" the if conditional *always* fails, even when username and context id are the same (here's the return printed output): user: udo container gallery context: udo username does not match context id ??? Can someone please shed some light what I am doing wrong? Query on adding a siteroot object.

Hi, I am having Zope 2.5. After adding a siteroot object with path 'http://xyz.mydomain.com in a folder, I am not able to open that folder again. It throws up the following page. Forbidden You don't have permission to access /manage_main on this server. Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Apache/2.0.35 Server at xyz.mydomain.com Port 80 What might be the reason? Also, some pointers on how to configure apache to access zope contents will be helpful. Thank you. Regards, Paul.

The header handling in MailHost is broken. 2.6 will include a fix for that, which is more or less what you get in the enclosed patch. When you say the file object is an attribute of your ZClass, what do you mean. What superclasses are you using? Are you getting a NameError? For your last question, have you tried getting self.__class__ in your external method to access the class; I don't know if this will accomplish what you are looking to do, but it seems worth a try? Image handling

Hello, I have to present a colored map accord to some database values. The values define a certain color for some reasons of the map. (Example: Assume a map of the world and color each country according to the density of people in this country.) My idea was to use an XPM graphic which has a quite simple text format and just define the color to display for each region. This reduces the task to draw a complicated shape to just loading a template image and setting some integer values for the colors. Anyway I wonder how to present this in Zope perhaps in a Zope product. I have to load the template from enywhere change the colors in it and display it in a reasonable format (perhaps using PIL to convert the resulting XMP to GIF to reduce bandwidth usage). I have no idea how to propagate the final image. Any ideas Andreas.

Query on CMF.

Dear Paul, Unpack the CMF install file to a seperate directry. Then copy all the CMF folders to zope/lib/python/Products/ Then restart zope. It should work.
