Limiting data in subfolder

We have several clients using Zope, and we set the client to have have virtual host in their own folders like http://our.server:8080/clients/. We followed the instructions written in "Python 2.1.x, Zope 2.5.x, Apache 1.3.x/2.0.x, Virtual Hosts and caching installation and startup on RedHat Linux 7.3 and beyond" HOWTO. It works. But I wonder how to limit the size of the client subfolder in Zope? So we could limit client A to have only 100 MB space in Zope subfolder. Zope hangs when copying large/many objects

Hi Zopies, Some time ago i had already the prob that Zope hangs when copying (Cutting) many objects at once. I couldn't solve it but had to copy 500 objects in steps a 50. Now i get similar "hangings" when copying large objects (ie. a ZWiki folder with many pages). I remember having read that it might be something about zope's cache but don't remember... Any ideas appreciated! P.S. Zope catalog query...

Hi, I want to make a "very frequent" query on a ZCatalog. Each object in my Zope site is identified with a globally unique ID (called oid) which is indexed in my catalog ; sometimes, I can also know that the object that I'm looking for is stored in a given path. So my question is simple : if I know the subpath in which the object is stored, is it faster to : - make a query only on the oid - make a query on the oid and path Thanks for any advise... "dtml-in" question

Hi, A little question about the "dtml-in" tag. What I'd like to do is to build a list according to a property value, like we can do with for "for" Python instruction, something like : <dtml-in "object for object in objectValues() if object.visible"> Is there any way to achieve this, without writing a custom method ?? wrong redirection after save properties tab

Hi, i have a problem by using zope products. i wrote a product with edit and properties tabs. when i press the 'Save Changes' Button on the property tab the method manage_editProperties from the inherited class PropertyManager is called. after that i will redirect to the edit tab (i see it in the manage_tabs) but with content from the properties tab. whats wrong in my product. i do not implement manage_editProperties. I use the inherited method from PropertyManager Class. i use Zope 2.6.0 sorry for my bad english...

disable login

Anyone know a neat way disable login? I want to stop people logging in so I can upload new versions and stuff without them editing content while I'm at it. I can log in at a higher level than they can; a general method for programmatically making parts of the ZODB tree effectively read only is what I'm after. advice on storing in Zope instances of a python class inherited from UserList

Hi all, I want to use Zope as the persistent storage for a big number of instances of a python class inherited from UserList and I ask advice to this list's wisdom on the best strategy to use. The class models structured contents (text) organized as a hierarchical tree a few level deep and obtained by parsing an input data stream. The class instances are about 200.000 (i.e. BTree Folders will be needed), but their max. size is small (couple of KB). The key of using Zope (apart from being Python and object oriented) is to leverage the use of ZCatalog. I see 2 alternatives: 1. Store them as XMLDocument instances (from XMLKit) and use ParsedXML and XMLTransform to build a search and display UI using XSLTs. 2. Store them using their native python structure and build from scratch a dtml search and display UI. Main advantage of 2. should be performance (no extra xml layer), but standard Zope objects don't seems (at least as far I Know) to permit an easy implementation of hierarchies of UserList-like properties and I would like to maintain a 1 object for each class instance approach. On the other hand, the xml approach seems natural because of the hierarchical nature of the class, but I am worried about performance issues due to the extra xml layer. Any advice or experience in implementing something like this (essentially a big single-object searchable storage) will be very helpful. Also, is there any problem on using Zope 2.6 instead of 2.5.1 (in principle better indexing, but all python work done so far is in 2.1.3 and I am worried about potential incompatibilities among BTree, XMLKit, ParsedXML, XMLTRansform and Zope 2.6). Why DateTime("Europe/Madrid") Returns Error Type: Invalid Date-Time String Error Value: Europe/Madrid ??? (By the way, what Zone must I put then ?)
