Accessing imported module function

I am in the process of developing a Python product for Zope. I have created several container (folderish) objects, and have come across a problem when two objects can recursively contain each other. For example, I will explain 3 of my modules: In module CITATION.py, I have the following import statement. This should place this module into my sys.modules dictionary. import CITEINFO class CITATION(Folder): <all the class stuff here> add_citeinfo=CITEINFO.add_citeinfo In module CITEINFO.py import LWORKCIT class CITEINFO(Folder) <all the class stuff here> def add_citeinfo(self, ..., ...): <function statements here> In module LWORKCIT.py class LWORKCIT(Folder) def add_lworkcit(self, ..., ...): <function statements here> This is where my problem lies. In the class statements, I need to gain access to the CITEINFO.py modules add_citeinfo function. The CITEINFO.py module exists in the sys.modules and I can retireve it with the following statement: module = sys.modules 'Products.METADATA.CITEINFO'] However, I do not know how to gain a reference to the add_citeinfo function. Inside my 'def add_lworkcit()' function, I make the follwoing call: withIt.manage_addProduct['METADATA'].add_citeinfo('citeinfo') It appears the add_citeinfo defined in the CITATION.py module is called (since I am unable to define a variable add_citeinfo in my LWORKCIT class. My 'citeinfo' object is added to Zope, but in the wrong namespace. 'withIt' is the LWORKCIT namespace I want the 'citeinfo' object created in. It seems to ignore this and create a citeinfo object in the CITATION object. If further information, explanation, or code is needed for someone to provide me with a little help, please ask and I will elaborate. Any insight into a solution would be greatly appreciated. all work lost?

Hi We have a designer who has been trying to make our Zope/Plone test site look unique. She has done something that caused some of the Plone icons go missing. I could not fathom how to get it back, so I installed the Bubble Blue icon set from the Plone website, thinking it may replace any missing icons. The instructions said restart Zope, which I did. After the restart Zope reverted to how it was directly after it was installed (SuSE 8.1 RPM). Even the superuser password was back to the default, and all our work is missing. Or can it be retrieved? problems for Zope Installation

Hello, We are trying to install zope2.6 on Solaris 6.4.1. So we took the sources of zope but we could not reach the complete installation. We have downloaded the 2.1.3 version of Python as recommended for zope 2.6. After executing the instructions make and make install, we tried to execute the script w_pcgi.py. And when we launch the application (command "start"), there is a problem of linking libraries. We get this kind of error : Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/local/packages/zope/z2.py", line 247, in ? import os, sys, getopt, codecs, string File "/usr/local/lib/python2.1/codecs.py", line 10, in ? import struct,types,__builtin__ ImportError: No module named struct But codecs.py is a python library and so I don't understand. Non-persistent ZClasses?

I am trying to create non-persistent ZClasses. I have seen no examples of this anywhere in the online Zope realm, but I have seen several references to "non-persistent wrapper classes," but no one seems to be able to provide an example. I could be going about my project incorrectly, but this really seems to be the best approach. Is anyone out there familiar with creating these and can give me some examples of constructors (python preferred, but will take whatever you have at this point!) and adding instances programmatically? Database Adapter Madness

I'm writing a ZClass for a generic SQL table editor. It detects the format of the table, and generates a sortable table with add/edit/delete functions. The ZClass itself is tied to a Database Adaptor that has to be hardcoded to connect to a certian database. This is bad, I need each instance to point to a different database. I cannot find any way to change what database the DA connects to in python or by any other method. If you change the connection string, it affects all of the instances of the zClass. I'm at a loss for ideas on how to do this properly. Right now I have a Psycopg DA inside of the ZClass. Anyone have any hints?

Newbie adding users problems to Zope and Plone

In my acl_users folder, there is only me: admin As admin, I have added several users: jack, etc. However, these users do not show up in the /acl_users folder at the contents tab. Yet, if I add one (say, "jack") I get the message: A user with the specified name already exists So if they exist, why aren't they in the folder? My second question: How the heck to I join a plone site? And how the heck do I add members to it? IE doesn't expire cookies

I have run into a rather strange problem with IE. It appears to not expire cookies, making it rather difficult to use IE with a logout button. THis seems to only be a problem when using a SiteRoot and https through an Apache server. Has anyone else seen this? Hopefully, this is not an idle question and the intersection of: - secure web application - cookie authentication - logout - WinIE front end is not too small!
