Cost estimation for developing a Framework or CMS

Good morning! This has nothing to do with Zope directly, but I'm in the hope one of you might know a source for an estimation of the costs (some kind of study or report; manhours/days/months as unit would be fine) for implementing a Web Application Framework (like Zope, or something of a smaller scale) or a CMS. Are there some figures of this kind available for Zope, too? I need this for stuffing my thesis a bit with numbers... Thanks! Martin

Chris, I wonder if you would elucidate... What is the problem with this particular combination: [Zope 2.6 + Python 2.2]? What would happen if I installed Zope 2.6 and had only Python 2.2? Greetings folks, I have seen below via google search: Zope 2.5 + Python 2.1 --> Good Zope 2.6 + Python 2.1 --> Good Zope 2.7 + Python 2.1 --> Bad Zope 2.5 + Python 2.2 --> Bad Zope 2.6 + Python 2.2 --> Bad Zope 2.7 + Python 2.2 --> Good This article/note was from September, 2002. Getting inherited classes

Hi all, a quick question: how could I (in a python script) get a list of all inherited classes from an object's meta_type? My aim's is to get the first object implementing ObjectManager while going up in the PARENTS hierarchy, whith something like that: parents = request.PARENTS for i in range(len(parents)): if parents[i].meta_type ********: ### if it implements ObjectManagers return parents[i] Ciao Mik

Product Question

Hi all, have been experimenting with Products of late, I have a directory: FOO and in it. __init__.py with the correct defintion for initialize() and foo,py with a Product Interface and Implementation a la book. but I forgot one thing, a line that says : InitializeClass(MyProduct) Now, my product works fine <u>without</u> this line, and as I'm a curious sort, was wonderiing if anyone could tell me why if you have got initialze() in __jnit__.py why one would <i>need</i> to InitializeClass() in Product.py?? tia Matt

You will need to put this functionality in an external method, as win32com is not allowed in zope by default. Set Up Zope Webhosting

Our company developed sites for our clients using Zope. We placed them on our server. Now every user has to start his own Zope by running 'start' script. So there are many Zope processes running in our server now. Luckily, there are still not many clients :). But I think that is a bad way for running Zope webhosting. So, is there anyone here could tutor or show me how to set up Zope Webhosting better? Thanks. -mico-

Splitter, Vocabulary and them numbers

I'm playing around with the ZCatalog and to my suprise numbers 123 are *not* indexed by the TextIndex. Is this a bug, a feature by design or am I plain stupid? I the year 1992 Denmark was victorious. 1992 is not in the vocabulary. \Oliver
