Iterate over Z-SQL objects

Hi, For reference, I want to produce a list of all of my Z-SQL objects, showing the ID and SQL-Template of each object. Is there an easy way of doing this ? There's no reference in the docs to any method which can pull out the SQL-Template text from a Z-SQL object... Disable 'Access contents information' permission

debug output of a container

Thanks for your advice. I'd like to make a more obvious description. One of the goals is to build a news site. Should I prefer to save the news articles as properties of the news folder or as separate documents inside the folder. I've read about issues concerning very large folders. Not by size, but by amount of objects. Isn't btreefolder therefore being developed. If I choose to go the way of independent objects in 2 years I' ll have >3000 objects in the folder. Otherwise >6000 properties of one folder object.

While it is indeed a better idea to have users edit content and not markup, if you do insist on it you will have a much easier time with Page Templates. Page Templates were designed (among other reasons) to deal with the very problem you describe below: many (most?) HTML editors have issues with the dtml tags, since, in general, they think they know better than the source they are given. That's generally not a problem with attributes to standard tags (as in PTs) since most editors will realize that there can exist attributes they will know nothing about. Another neat thing about PTs is that so long as the macro attibutes remain in place, you can present whole-seeming pages to your users, and they can change the page at will without damage to the surrounding structure of your finally-rendered page. With DTML, you're often working with HTML fragments. If you're worried about difficulty, don't be. Page Templates can look a little intimidating at first (there are a bunch of seemingly-cryptic characters), but it isn't bad at all. I did DTML for a long time, but since I switched to Page Templates, I can barely think in DTML at all. As for editing, especially with PTs, you can also, say, mount Zope as a WebDAV "drive" and use whatever editor you want. Some can do WebDAV themselves (Macromedia?). The ExternalEditor product is also something to look at (even if just for administrative use.) I'd really like to see some sort of Zope tool that uses the Mozilla editor widget in-place (it might indeed exist somewhere), perhaps as part of a larger management suite. A QueueCatalog question

QueueCatalog appears to be the greatest thing since sliced bread for delaying some catalog indexing. I do have a question about something that I couldn't really grok from the source code. What exactly am I specifying when I put a number in the "buckets" blank? It's not the number of objects to hold until indexing the fields, is it? Thanks -- Chris

Header information on file upload

Hi! In my HowTo about dealing with BLOBs <http://www.zope.org/Members/murphy/MySQL-BLOBs> I use a rather unelegant but working method to get the content type of an uploaded file. Stefan Tjarks has now drawn my attention to the Header attributes of the uploaded form data, namely the "Content-Type" attribute which seems to reveal the MIME type (photo.headers['Content-Type'] for the given exsample). My sorrow is now that this information isn't 100 % reliable, 'cause the Zope core (esp. the Image and File classes) doesn't seem to use this possibility either, but implements it's own methods which I use in the HowTo, too. The responsible class ZPublisher.HTTPRequest.FileUpload seems only to reach through the header information from the browser. Also I've learned through SelfHTML that the MIME type support of browsers has holes sometimes, as described for the accept attribute of the <form> tag. Does anybody have further information on that issue, and why headers['Content-Type'] isn't used by Zope (it is, in fact, but in ZPublisher for seemingly other purposes)? Martin

dynamic sql query

Hi, I have this query: "delete from database.table where pri in tuple_pri", where database,table,pri and tuple_pri are parameters which are passed from python script to a zsql method. I've tried to implement zsql method like this: delete from <dtml-var database>.<dtml-var table> where <dtml-sqltest <dtml-var pri> op=eq type=nb multiple>, but it fails... Could someone help me? TNX.
