Is this a bug?

Zope 2.5.1. on Linux (also produced on 2.6.0); Macromedia HomeSite 5 on XP. Open and edit some dtml via FTP. After several open/save opperations in HomeSite you can no longer access the management interface with IE! Tested with IE 5.x and 6.x on W2K/XP and IE on Mac. The page time-outs after a while with the standard IE error message. It looks like the site is down. The only way out of the problem is Mozilla/Netscape/Opera: You open the management interface wo any problem at all; you have to go and open in the web interface ALL the documents that have been edited through the ftp interface and SAVE them. That's it! Double click the link and then press Save. It apparently fixes the problem but it looks very scary. Is this a bug or is there something wrong in my config?

Problem running Zope behind IIS.

Hi, I am trying to run Zope behind IIS. Also I need IIS to take care of user authentication. I found in one document that the superuser password has to be removed for this purpose. But I am not able to find where it is stored. Can anyone help me in this? Thank you. Regards, Paul.

Searching a Gadfly database

Hi, I've been attempting (unsuccessfully) for a couple of days now to implement a simple search facility on a Zope based intranet I inherited responsibility for. (Forgive me if this is a really basic question, I'm much more comfortable with PHP and MySQL). After going around in numerous circles and butting my head up against a wall almost constantly I've finally worked out that: a) The text to search on is in a Gadfly database AND b) Gadfly databases don't support the SQL "LIKE" operator The manual says something about using python and regular expressions or something instead of "LIKE" but it's enough of a battle for me puzzling out this Zope stuff let alone learning some Python too... Oh, and the reason I decided to try the SQL route was because Z Catalog didn't seem to store any useful information that I wanted to search on. It (understandably) only catalogued information ABOUT the Z SQL Method, not information IN the Z SQL Method. Can anyone help me with a way to search a Gadfly database: either using SQL, Z Catalog or some other method. Thanks in advance! Matthew

Expand Macros

Hi, I have been looking at the "Examples" area and I found something in the FileLibrary folder that allows the uploading of files. I got that part to work in my document. What I cannot get working is the ability to display the files in the "Files" folder. I get an error message: Macro expansion failed exceptions.AttributeError: macros What do I need to turn on? It works in the example area. Also, I think this error prevent me from seeing the files stored in the "Files" folder. Thanks. How to access ZODB from python code

Hi I want to get access to some Zope objects stored in ZODB, from *outside* of any other Zope object (so I dont have anything to call getPhysicalRoot() or restrictedTraverse() on) but from *inside* python code running in the Zope process. This doesnt work: from Zope import Zope app = Zope.app() app.restrictedTraverse(...) The Zope server freezes, I guess there is a deadlock there. Currently, I'm using a single instance of a bogus product (a singleton) stored at the root of the Zope hierarchy, just to get access to the ZODB. I dont like it being a product nor being stored in the Zope database, but I cant access the Zope DB otherwise. How could I do that? Gabriel Genellina Softlab SRL

ZSyncer Error

I have two servers where the zsyncers are identical (well almost) the admin passwords are identical and it was working fine till this morning. Now I get the following error on one of them (the dev one) The deployment syncer works fine, but the dev one doesnt. Any ideas??
