I wrote an XML-RPC proxy some years ago that lets you proxy requests from a Zope server to another XML-RPC server (it's on zope.org) As far as I know, SOAP is not really supported by Zope directly. I suspect it could be added pretty painlessly, since there are some really nice SOAP implementations in python, but I've not really looked into it further since XML-RPC works between Java and Zope, and that has been my only non-python need so far :)

Using symlinks in CVS repository?

I'm asking here since Zope has been working with symlinks in its CVS repository for a while now. We're working on a number of Python Zope products, each checked in as a CVS module. We want to make a client release incorporating various of these products, and we would like to be able to cvs tag and branch the client release as a whole. We were thinking of creating symlinks inside the CVS repository:: .../product1 .../product2 .../client/project/<symlink to product1> .../client/project/<symlink to product2> The idea is that we can then say 'cvs co client/project', 'cvs tag -b client-rel-1_1-branch', tagging both product1 and product2. HTML anchor using DTML?

Hi, I'm designing a static HTML pages using DTML. Basically each page is divided into 2 sections, the header and the content. such as: <dtml-var services-navig.htm> <dtml-var services-cont.htm> In some pages, the content is too long, and they are divided into some sub-content which is linked through sub-header. The website is: http://www.gem.com.sg/services.htm For the above examples, there are 3 subheaders: 'Laboratory', 'consultation' and 'onsite' If I click on the subheading, I want it to display immediately on top of the page. I can use 'Anchor' if I use the HTML FRAME But how to do this in DTML? regards, Heri

Hi I have an account on http://freezope2.nipltd.net/"myAccount" and I would like to enter new co-workers. But it is not possible. How can I do this? I tried as is written in the Zope-Book. But without success. And my second question is: How can export my Zope-Account to an other machine? I want to edit my files local and then upload to the net. Thanks for your help Lamberto

You could do this: #Example (1) class Foo: birthday=0 But sometimes it is better to have a method which "refreshes" exiting objects to changes in the python source. #Example (2) class Foo: def refresh(self): if not hasattr(self, "birthday"): self.birthday=0 Then your application can have a method like refreshAllObjects(), which calls refresh on all objects. I know this does not scale if you have several thousand objects already in the ZODB, but it works for my solution. This example could be solved with the code from example 1, but sometimes you have more complex update logic which, I think, needs to be done in a method like in example 2. newbie: freeBSD upgrade

Okay, OS: FreeBSD 4.7 Stable I jsut installed the latest version of zope 2.6.0_1 from the /usr/ports/www/zope looks like my entire config and database got blasted. I didnt pay that much attention to the install messages. is there a good link I should be reading that is specific to FreeBSD'ers using zope?
