Zope tal/dtml syntax for results from external method...

I finally got my external method call working, and returning values... using <dtml-var getRecords> it prints: {u'item': [['1', 'Fido', '5.00'], ['2', 'Spot', '10.00'], ['4', 'Sparky', '24'], ['9', 'Buffy', '10'], ['10', 'Bobby', '50']]} the code for the above is: from SOAPpy import SOAPProxy def getAllRows(): server = SOAPProxy( "http:..." ) rows = server.getAll() return rows I can (in a python script) do: for row in rows: print row[0] ... I have been trying everything that I can think of to do the same in dtml, or preferably, tal... Could anyone post a snipit that would show how to get each element in a var and then access the positional element? Thanks in advance... JH jhood - hmcon com

newbie pointer for reading

Hi all, i went to the zope site, read the zope book there and also have the The book of Zope My problem is that the zope book doesnt exactly explain how to do things, and the book of zope seems pretty advanced as an introduction Is there any other source of information I can look at that might be more helpful Thank you for your time, G __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? You will have some problems getting the user authentification to work on an W2k Zope Server. That was my experience. I recompiled and created a package for the LDAP Userfolder so that now I can use the LDAPUserfolder and python-ldap to authenticate users with the Active Direcory Domain Server. If you need ODBC, you should use an W2k Server otherwise Linux. (My personal opinion!!!) using os.system to execute linux command

I have an External method that uses os.system to execute a linux command on a local host. I am trying to pass a file name to the findDocs function (see below) to locate the location (path) of the wanted file and print it out on a dtml document. Can someone please show me how to make this work? As the owner of all currently available Zope books (in English, anyway), I highly recommend the Zope Bible by Bernstein, Robertson, et al... Poll Tag & other Poll/Survey stuff

Hiya Everybody, I'm trying to use the Poll Tag product in Zope, anyone got any ideas what I'm supposed to do with it? If I put it in my Products folder and restart Zope it doesn't show up in my Add To list. I'm unable to import the folder into ZMI because you can (apparently) only import files. I'm unable to copy the folder from my local machine and paste it into ZMI. So: what now? Is the Poll Tag the best or standard product to use for this? Are there other Poll/Survey products of interest?
