I need a python script that I can use to upload files into a zope folder. The name of this folder is in a variable. Could someone help me? Christian

DB XML with Python & Zope

Has anyone attempted the use of Sleepycat's recent DBXML with Zope and/or Python? The documented APIs are in C++ and Java, as well as Tcl and C. I'd appreciate any input, perhaps some other listservs that may know more? Thanks!

Sounds like an installation problem. Check the error messages on the console at startup time and check the Products managenent in the Control Panel. -aj --On Montag, 28. Stupid Problem to append something to a file.. Arrgh!

Hello, I tried to append a string to a file : somefile=open(path, 'a') print >> somefile, "some string" The string is appended twice to some file. I get the same result with or without somefile.flush() or somefile.close(). When i try to open somefile in mode 'w+', i read the file with readlines and then i 'writelines' it to the file after having appended a string to it. What happens ? ho ho !! the list is entirely written a number of times equal to the number of items in the list.. I can't say that the problem may be in Zope but when i try it from a Python shell, it works well, as expected. Has everybody heard about something like that ?

Running a script at Zope startup

EmailHi all! I have searched for a sollution, but could not find an appropriate way to execute a python script when Zope starts up. Does anybody know of a way that I am able to do this? What I basically have, is client objects residing inside Zope objects, that needs to connect to remote servers each time zope starts up. The client connections cannot persist in the ZODB, so I need to create them each time. The zope objects in this instance acts only as a proxy-type object. Thanks H

problems with setting request variable

ZDiscussions Problem under Zope 2.6.2b3

All of a sudden ZDiscussions fails. The version we've been using (heavily modified to change its skin) is venerable -- old enough that I cannot find the version number. I know there is a new version (python and ZPT based), but we are in a time crunch and would like to avoid having to modify the new version quickly. So -- can anyone suggest a simple workaround. We don't want to back up Zope versions since most everything else has been moved forward to 2.6.2. The problem we encounter is an exception that states that an attribute is not found in Lazy Map Instance. ZDiscussions is a hybrid python (ZBase)/ZClass product. The missing attributes are in the ZBase product, but are not found. We did run 2.6.1 for a bit, but moved to 2.6.2 when it became available to avoid some stability problems. The ZDiscussion product worked (I think) in the 2.6.1. It certainly worked and worked well in 2.5.1. TIA for any help... -dra
