Creating subobjects Programmatically in a ZClass Instance

Morning everyone.... What I am trying to do today is to create subobject in a Folderish ZClass (much like OFS:Folder automagically create and acl_uer folder and an index_html), but I cannot find an example.... To illustrate, I create a ZClass folder deived instance called "FOO" Then within my new instance of "FOO" I want to create another ZClass folder derived instance called "BAR" All of this when the user creates the instance FOO Note that I am working right now and if you got a down and dirty solution, please send it here or just post to the list and I'll pick it up when I get home.... Hi All, After reading the documentation for a couple of days plus 4 hours of programming, I've been able to create a rough working version of a Lotus Domino application. The only thing I'm missing is "views": categorized listings of objects. I've searched the internet for this, but I haven't found any component or sample code, so I think it's time to create a product or extend Zope. My questions for the experts are: 1. Is there any component/code snippet that can do this? (to make sure I'm not reinventing the wheel) 2. If I were to create this, should I take the product/plug-in path or the extend Zope path? 3. Were can I find resources for the recommended approach? Thanks in advance. ZServerSLL and thrid party certs

Has anybody been able to get ZServerSLL up and running with a third party cert (Entrust in our case)? We've been able to get it to run without a cert and with a self signed cert, but not a third party cert. Any ideas? Thanks Chuck - chuckr(a)signiant.com

ZCataloging objects added by batch within a Product

Hi, I have a Product class ( OrderedFolder, PropertyManager ) which adds a zCatalog(id = 'Catalog' ) when it is created. A batch process uploads a file which contains the data to add objects of class tPatient( CatalogAware, OrderedFolder, PropertyManager ). Catalog has a fieldIndex on 'surname'. After the upload the patients appear in the Catalog but the ZSearchInterface form will not return any results. Search on null input produces all the tPatients. If I edit a tPatient instance, the search interface will then return the correct patient thru the SearchInterface form. The tPatient.editPatient method calls self.reindex_object(). Have tried deleting and creating Catalog by hand and looking at ZCatalog.py to no avail. David

Hi, I try to use Formulator a little bit more effective to enhance the my code with metal. I would like to find a clever METAL macro which enables me to use <div metal:use-macro="here/form_zpt/macros/item_macro/item_a">Item A</div> <div metal:use-macro="here/form_zpt/macros/item_macro/item_b">Item B</div> ... Unfortunately I have no idea this is possible at all because I have to handle different objects with just the same naming convention: form.item_a item_a (Variable to define) request/item_a Any hint whether my intent makes sense or if this is a stupid idea? [Ann] Post-Authentication-Hook patch

In some case, you want to take special actions once the user has been determined at the end of traversal. You may, e.g., want to deny Manager role to any non HTTPS request. This patch adds support for a *post authentication hook*. It adds code to the 'validated_hook', called when the user is successfully authenticated. The code tries to acquire an object 'post_authentication_hook' from 'request.PARENTS[0]'. If this is successful, it calls this object with the arguments 'request' and 'user'. Zope 2.7 Beta Installer

Hi, I've revived the Zope installer scripts so that a new Zope 2.7 installer is being built that compliments the one Zope Corp. builds. This installer is currently in beta but will hopefully be ready when 2.7 is launched. It can be downloaded here: http://www.clearwind.ca/zope It features all the same goodies as the Zope Corp. plus: * Additional Python modules: o Full Win 32 Installation o PIL o Reportlab * Additional Documentation: o Zope Book (2.6 edition) o Dive into Python o Python 2.2 documentation * Additional modules and products: o External Editor o LocalFS o ZSyncer o Formulator o Localizer o Translation Service Plus its not dependent upon Zope Corp to build, it's built straight from a CVS check out each night. Anyway the installer is in beta, so any testing and bug reports would be appreciated (and it will soon be moved to a fast server). Dear List, I wanted to convert the HTML file into PDF file using Zope. for this I have downloaded the script developed by Maik Jablonski. I also downloaded the htmldoc from Easy Software Products. But still it is showing the following error. ERROR: ******************************************************************** import of "popen2" from "os" is unauthorized. You are not allowed to access popen2 in this context ********************************************************************* Please let me know what is the problem.
