Problem using External Editor

Hi, I 'm trying to use External Editor 0.7 with GNU Emacs 21.2.93.1 or kedit and Netscape 7.01 with Mandrake 9.1. The problem is: 1. Emacs (or kedit) open with some External Editor parameters as header... 2. When I save the file content is not updtaed to Zope Here is an exemple of index_html content I get: url:http://localhost:8080/index_html meta_type:DTML Method auth:Basic cGF0cmljazp4NjhkZGU1cg== cookie:tree-s="eJyLjlZ3hANPW/XYWAAtiQTP" <dtml-var standard_html_header> <dtml-var zope_quick_start> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> is there any idea ? Thanks !! you all !!! Problem solved the problem was that Arrival and Departure are strings. I also trayed passing the string like this #dd/mm/yy# to the data base and worked. I'm traying to convert variables that I recieve from a JavaScript tu ISO date format using: <dtml-var Arrival fmt=ISO> <dtml-var Departure fmt=ISO> This Dates will be then used to send an SQL request to a database so I use: <dtml-in expr="Disponibilidad_cal (fechain=Arrival, fechaout=Departure)"> And allways shows same error: Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. user log-ins not persisting

I have a situation where Zope log-ins only seem to be recognized by the first page viewed after the user logs in. I have only been able to duplicate this in Mozilla I'm using the following if-logic to check if a user is logged in and selectively display content. <dtml-if "AUTHENTICATED_USER.getUserName() == 'Anonymous User'"> For the first page after they authenticate this tests false, yet on subsequent pages it tests as true... Any Ideas on what's happening here? Much appreciated. -- David

Product initilization, acquisition and instance references

Hello, I'm making 2 products that relate to each other much like a Database Adapter and a Z SQL Method ... One provides services to the other. The classes themslves already exist for pure python, and I'm trying to wrap them into a Zope product. The first one works fine. The problem is the second one, which uses the first one. First of all, it looks like while the class is being instanciated, there isn't any acquisition yet ? getattr(self, <id of instance of first type of object> ) does not work as expected ... I need object 2 to get the instance of object 1 in order to instanciate it properly. Under normal python, one would create an instance of object 1, and pass it as a parameter when instanciating object 2. Is this making any sense ? :) Also, if acquisition did work and I did something like self.serviceprovider = getattr( self, <id of instance of other object> ) would I be storing a copy of the instance, or a reference to it ? Anyway I can persistently store a reference to it ? The detailed situation is this: I have a Connection object, and a Query object (They talk to a web service). The Connection object instanciates fine. The problem is that the Query object when being instanciated (And edited for that matter), wants to check that some of it's parameters are valid against the server information known and cached in the Connection object. But I can't seem to get to that object at instanciation !! Any help or insights would be much appreciated !! Is the port always 8021? How do I figure out what port it is using? I'm a newbie to this stuff so you will need to explain step by step. Understood. I'm using a specialized user folder product solely for this application, however. I am not actually rewriting Zope, just this custom user folder product. Ultimately I may absorb the whole thing into my own product. suddenly, everything breaks...

Hello happy zopers, I hope this is not a FAQ : - I was doing my regular job of updating a Plone site (fiddling with items in site/portal_actions) when the zope server stopped answering any questions... - I stopped/restarted the zope instance but by now the only thing that works is ftp access (port 8021) that shows that everybody still sits there - Current symptom is whenever I try to access any url within the site (be it plone-ish or outside) I get an immediate "connexion refused from blabla:8080/url" - Since I'm stuck there I'd be too glad some soul were aware of the problem... Meanwhile i'll try to rebuild a new Data.fs from pieces but what a pain ! Thanks for your indulgence... Aurelien
