Mappings to folders inside localfs objects aren't accepted

Hi, I have a VirtualHostMonster on the root of my zope server (version 2.6.1). On the past (on 2.5.1 I think), I added some mappings to folders inside localfs objects and it worked. Now, I'm trying to add new mappings and the problem is that the previous mappings that I made become invalid and are followed by the text: "#! Path must lead to an Object Manager" I found that the problem is the following validation in the VirtualHostMonster.py file: -- if not getattr(ob.aq_base, 'isAnObjectManager', 0): ---- raise 'LineError', ('Path must lead to ' ---- 'an Object Manager') I removed it, restarted zope, and it worked. Does this also happen with the latest versions of zope? is this a bug? Thanks, Josef

communication between Zope's now broken

I have one complex of Zopes that have one adminsistration site and a collection of productions sites. The administration site invokes actions on in the production sites through the web using a redirect, and control is returned to the administrative site by a redirect back. It's worked pretty well. I've now cloned the site--and all the inter-zope communications no long work. If I invoke them through a browser URL, they work, but programmatically they do not. I suspect a security/permissions problem, but I've not been able to identify it. Any suggestions appreciated.

The LDAPUserFolder is not at fault but maybe your LDAP Server. If you have an Active Directoy LDAP Server, you have a limit of 1000 Objects, which you can increase. LDAPUserFolder and roles assignements Problem

Hi people, I instantiated a Group User Folder object for my Zope+Plone app. and configured it to take users from an LDAP server in order to get users id and passwords validated. The underlying users source is an LDAPUserFolder object which cannot retrieve the entire users list ( LDAPUserFolder is limited in results size!). In this way, I'm not able to assign roles to my users in the ZMI since I don't get the user list! I also dont have the Comma separated list of special additional role userid's and Comma separated list of additional roles for special userid's I used to have in a LDAPAdapter object for instance. Has anybody found a way to assign roles to LDAP-based user names? Thanks in advance! Multiple threads using Apache Rewrite

We have a machine (FreeBSD) set up running Apache to dish up 'normal' websites on port 80, and we have been developing a couple of Zope based Intranet type sites, so we have ZServer running on its default port of 8080. We're using Apache mod-rewrite to transaprently proxy Zope request to the ZServer. All is sweet. That is until a request that ties ZServer up for a period of time is closely followed by a second request - the result from Apache is a 'proxy error' - i.e. there was no server visible to respond to the second proxy request. Running ps -aux only ever shows two Zope processes, no matter how hard one is working. Isn't there supposed to be a monitor process running which forks new processes when existing ones get busy, like Apache does? Both Apache and Zope were installed from FreeBSD Ports using default startup scripts. Advice gratefully received. Jim Whiteside.

Can't use FTP to upload file

Hi, I am using WS-FTP to upload files, however, I can login successful , can't list, upload and download the files. I have already add -f 9089 in the start script. And enable the ftp access privileges in the ZMI. I have a router but I allow the TCP port 9089 in to my ZServer. How can I solve the problem?? There is the log of FTP : USER admin 331 Password required. PASS (hidden) 230 Login successful. PWD 257 "/" is the current directory. Sessiondata in SQL

Hi ya all, I wondered about integration applications in php better with applications in Zope and thought about even handing over sessiondata via sql. What is the contemporary way to have sessiondata in SQL RDBMS and are the drawbacks in it too much to even think about it - compared to using the ram based sessiondata? I tried to google but did not find that much information about whether people had written their own sessiondatamanagers or sessiondata storages to do this - hence the question. -huima

Strange errors preventing our Zope instance from starting

Products: using Product's specific exceptions from TTW Python scripts

Hi zopistas... Hmmm seems that the main question is in the title but here's the background... I made a business logic object that must be customized with options and TTW Python scripts. Some of the methods used from Python scripts may raise specific custom exception but I didn't get the way making those exceptions available to Python scripts. As a workaround, I use builtin exceptions like IOError and others in a bad way. What I would like to do... from Products.MyProduct.MyExceptions import InvalidDateRangeError ... try: # do some stuff except InvalidDateRangeError, e: # do other stuff Many thanks in advance for your hint. -- Gilles
