Hi, (It is not my intent to cross post but I sent this to the Formulator list yesterday and still haven't seen it show up.) I'm pretty new to Zope so please speak slowly and use small words. :o) Several months ago I started a small learning project in Zope using Formulator. I got to the point of successfully creating data input forms, storing the entered data in ZODB objects, cataloging the objects, and using the catalog to retrieve and display data from an object. Life intruded and forced me to lay the project aside for a couple months but now I'm ready to pick it back up. I'm hoping someone can help kickstart me into the next step which is providing a data edit form to let the user change previously stored data. Currently, to show previously saved data, I give the user a drop-down box with all the record keys, let them select a key and click Submit, then use a Python script to query the catalog and print/return the selected fields (property values) to a display page. What I'd like to do is return the selected fields into the input form so the user can edit them. Clarification: I am trying to access a Plone application that we are developing logged in as a user. The application uses an acl_users folder and Plone's standard logout/login page. At the same time I want a ZMI window open logged in as me, an owner of the whole Zope instance, not just the plone site. It seems to be possible to have 2 ZMI windows open logged in as different people but not a ZMI window and a window on the Plone application. You can either always start Mozilla that way, or (I think) it'll give you a choice when you try to start a second time. I recall that the Windows installer makes an icon for the Profile Manager. On the command line you can just throw a '-ProfileManager' flag on. No matter how I start it - start menu icon, command line (with or without ProfileManager switch) etc. It only ever asks me to select the profile the first time I start it up. Any more instances that are started just start - it never asks for the profile. Trying to switch profiles whilst there are 2 instances open just results in both being closed and one window opened to the home page of the profile that I'm switcing to. Using Mozilla with Zope

Hi, I am trying to switch to Mozilla due to IE6 being extremely buggy, especially when working through proxy servers. We are currently developing a Zope/Plone application which uses standard Zope authentication using an acl_users folder. To test this application I need to open a browser window onto it, loged-in as a user, however at the same time I also need to have another browser window open onto the ZMI logged in as a manager user so that I can edit the Scripts/ZPTs. Doing this in IE6 is simply a matter of starting up 2 intances of it (ie. Not clicking File->New->Window to open the 2nd window). This seems to keep the authentication info. seperate. I realise that this is a bit off-topic as it is more of a general web-browser question but I was hoping that some Zope users have had some experience using Mozilla during application development. FTP and Zope : Blocking Anonymous FTP Take 2

Sorry for the long-winded ramble last time, I wasn't entirely sure what my question was, and went on a little bit longer than was needed. The problem really is that I want to block anonymous FTP access, but still need to give people who can authenticate in a nested LDAPUserFolder FTP Access to the root, or else the FTP client of choice (DW) has kittens. The only way to do this seems to be to give FTP Access to Anonymous, but that entirely defeats the pre-established monkey-patch to block non-authenticating FTP logins. Solutions? Edward

FTP Malarky with Gibberish Users

Hello all, I'm seeking to improve the security of my website. Content is maintained using Dreamweaver via FTP. Authentication is with LDAPUserFolder 2.3. I've never been able to get medusa to disallow anonymous/gibberish logins. Please tell me someone knows how to do this. I'd like users who type in passwords incorrectly to be denied access, not stuck in "No Priviledges Land - Population 1". Those people without passwords and usernames should be denied access entirely, not be allowed to flood my server with commands that are, of course, denied. It's really obnoxious to have to service those that would do this, rather than deny them outright. I'm game for some monkey patches, if so required. Zope 2.6.2, for those that would ask. strange script behaviour

Hi everyone, I have a script that loops thru' formulator and creates the insert sql string (with a view to creating the sqlMethod on the fly). When I come to multicheckbox fields I want enter the selected values into my db column by separating them with a semi-colon. However when I want to do this part of the script : if field.meta_type=='MultiCheckBoxField': sql=sql+"<dtml-in " + field.id + ">\n" sql=sql+"<dtml-var sequence-item>;" sql=sql+"</dtml-in>," the '/' of the </dtml-in> prevents the string from being rendered properly and results in the following (and none of the line breaks appear): .... values (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ;,, ;,, , , , , ;, ;,, , , , , , , ;,, , , , , ) However if I remove the '<' of the </dtml-in> and leave it '/dtml-in>, the string renders ok: .... values (<dtml-sqlvar nom type=string >, <dtml-in prestataire> <dtml-var sequence-item>;/dtml-in>, I don't understand at all since all I am doing is concatenating strings. strange form behaviour

Hi I have a form that has a python script as an action in a plone site. If I login to plone as user admin then the script works fine. If I login as user djk(a)microamps.com the script instead of going to doUpdate as it should, pops up a dialoge box saying open/save doUpdate.com. Logging using an email address is fine in all other aspects and I have been using this with 3000 members for the last year just fine. It has just started happening. Anyone experienced anything like that? TIA Dave

Problems with roles in 2.7rc1 too?

Hello, Are there any known problems with roles and Zope 2.7rc1? I cannot get a Plone-workflow state to work properly, it denies access to all users - including the manager, even tough I've given the manager role all permissions. The only way to awoid the message appearing is to check the Acquire-box of the "Access contents information"-permission. This worked fine on Zope 2.6.2. Could anybody confirm that this is a bug, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance, -Petter-
