I am pleased to announce the release of TextIndexNG 2.1.0 final: Changes in 2.1.0 (since latest 2.0.8): - **Minimum Python version:** Python 2.3.3 or higher - **Minimum Zope version:** Zope 2.7 - workaround for incorrect treatement of HTML entities in strip-o-gram (affected HTML document converter) - fixed entity handling in SGML and XML converters - misc. converter fixes - phrase and NEAR search should be working again - optimized space usage of the StandardStorage - added a new storage *StupidStorage* which uses less space but neither supports near, phrase nor ranking - the storage can be choosen at creation time - **Exisiting indexes should be deleted and re-created** - Fixed a bug reported by Simon Pamies where also unindexed documents appeared as indexed - fixed bug in reindexing behaviour in StupidStorage (patch by Dieter Maurer) - optimized implementation of StupidStorage and StandardStorage - fixed a list comprehension with a quadratic runtime behaviour - Better integration with Plone: TextIndexNG can now be installed through Plone Setup/Add+Remove programs. Usually database adaptors map SQL "null" to Python None. In python you have: is None ==None to check. In most situations, boolean algebra is more convient: None, "", '', {}, (), [] and so on are logically "false". if maybe_none: will only used if true or not one of the above values also: maybe_none or "defaultvalue" is usefull if you like functional programming (list comprehensions for example) (value is None and "No pricetag") or ("$ %0.2f" % value) would be an expression for full functional programming using boolean algebra :-) (try it out with different values from python command line) Regards Tino

I noticed that when the parameter is Null I get a Type Error Unsubscriptable object. Is there a python function or an if statement that will fix this? Thanks, Laura

PDF doesn't display page 2?

Hello all, For some reason PDF's viewed through both Mozilla and IE on http://www.houstonpsychiatry.org do not display any page other than one. The files are not corrupt, they display fine when downloaded and viewed with Acrobat. You can find them in the far right column in the Welcome box. Please help, this is a vexing problem. I'm using Zope with Squishdot, fairly current releases. I've been told that the problem is probably not Squishdot. Thanks in advance! -- IV

CookieCrumbler problem

Hi, I'm having a problem with CookieCrumbler 1.24. I'm trying to use it with Zope 2.7.2, Python 2.3.4, and LDAPUserFolder 2.4beta3. I want CC to show my login.html when a user accesses a protected folder, but this doesn't happen; the basic auth dialog still pops up. I enter a username and password that authenticates correctly with my LDAP server and then my login.html shows up. On this page I have to enter a correct username, but then any gibberish in the password field will allow me to login; this basically means that the dialog box was doing the real login and this login.html wasn't doing much. I can then logout by clicking a link that calls a Python Script that calls logout() in CC (is this the correct way to logout? CC doesn't have any docs, so I perused its code and found logout()). But now when I try to access the folder again I get instantly logged out because I have code at the top of my index.html ZPT that detects if a session object exists, and if it doesn't it will logout the user. Since I've logged out, a session object does not exist. Basically, the login process is being completely bypassed and I'm hitting index.html directly. The correct login process that I have set up is as follows: 1) CC shows my login.html. 2) The user logs in, which calls index.py. 3) index.py creates a new session and then calls index.html This was working for some time before "something happened" and I am now seeing the above wrong behavior. new style getargs format but argument is not a tuple

I am attempting to restore a Zope installation from backup. Upon startup, I get a large number of ERROR(200) entries in the input, then a final PANIC(300) that brings everything to a halt. All of the tracebacks end with the same exception. I have included the final traceback for your inspection. Can anyone lend some insight? Hello all, In some time behind, more than 1 year, I start a project named "The Zope Counter". The project idea is provide a Zope counter like The Linux Counter (counter.li.org) but I invested a lot of time in the start and I was without time later. To not leave the idea die, I want to invite some volunteer to work in this idea with me. Somebody would like?
