Help on installing zope and some products.

Hi All, A newbie to all this, I'm trying to install ERP5 on my WinXP system, and everything was going well..... until zope stopped loading and came up with the following message... NameError: name 'get_abspath' is not defined The weird thing is that File "C:\Program Files\Zope-2.7.2-0\lib\python\Zope\Startup\__init__.py", line 33, in ? check_python_version() does not even mention the 'get_abspath' I have the following products installed (amongst others), but the system won't run. Hi, all I want to take the taste of Zope3, so to install it in Fedora Core release 2's server, but I didn't get success. My config: os: Fedora Core release 2 gcc: gcc-3.3.3-7 Python: python-2.3.4 Zope: ZopeX3-3.0.0c2 but when I make, i got these message: /usr/bin/python install.py -q build cc1: error: invalid option `tune=pentium4' error: command 'gcc' failed with exit status 1 make: *** [build] Error 1 could anyone give me tips? BTW: I posted it to zope3-dev list, but nobody help me out, so bother here. : ( TIA Zhou Zhen

Plone 2.0 and Apache 2.0 ugly screen after I logout

I am running plone 2.0 and Apache 2.0 on windows everything is fine until I logout. When I logout the images are cactus and I just see the little red cross . my style is all over the place and if I try to go back to the home page the site is just ugly. However if I start a new browser things are back to normal. I am using rewrite rules in apache : RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.parasyn\.com.au$ RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://ip:port/VirtualHostBase/http/www.parasyn.com.au:80/corporate/Virt ualHostRoot/$1 [P] A friend suggested it could be because I have caching turned on in apache but I have been up and down the httpd.conf file and cannot see anything. Has anybody seen this . object shortcuts

I was hoping to place some short cut object in the root of my zope site that point directly down into certain folder within the plone site. Silva has something called a shadow. I was wondering if there is something that can be used generally to create a 'rewrite' object. For example: if my zope plone site looks like this \ \standardzopestuff \standardzopestuff\plonesite\members\ploneuser\coolstuff I would like to have a url like \coolstuff that maps straight into the ploneusers folder. I don't know what to call this.. in apache this would be a rewrite. preload/sync users from NIS ?

Hi, I'm trying to deploy Zope-2.7.2/Plone-2.0.4 for an intranet running on a clone of RedHat Enterprise Linux 3 u3. I searched but could not find any script that would preload / synchronize the Zope/Plone users with the NIS (/etc/passwd) users. I've tried exUserFolder, but could not get it to work. Plus from the documentation, I understood that it does not support creating all/some of the NIS users by itself. (ie: a user has explicitely request creation of a new account for the passwd sync to work) I'm looking to import all my 3000 NIS users (login/passwd) into Zope. Is there such a script ? Is there documentation on how to write one ? What do people that run an intranet (with an enterprise database of login/passwd) use ? I'm looking for a solution where, to access the intranet pages, a user just has to login using his(her) usual login/passwd. Thanks for your help. -- ged.

By default, a new file created in Zope (not CMF) via WebDAV or FTP is a DTML document. I assume there is a way to change this, say, to a Zope Page Template? I am investigating integrating Dreamweaver's native templating with ZPT's in Zope. on dates

I'm trying to format a Date retrieved from MySQL, but while I can print the date as it is I can't access any of the methods, so no strftime() and no day() etc I get a 'not allowed in this context' exception so: <i tal:content="python:item.data"></i> is ok but: <i tal:content="python:item.data.day"></i> causes Zope to ask for authentication Zope 2.7.2, Python 2.3.4 here any hint would be appreciated thanks massimo

ZCataloging without ZClasses

Hi, being the use of ZClasses frequently discouraged, I was wondering if there is any way to dynamically add or reindex objects in a ZCatalog or if there is any alternative. thanks massimo

Yes, I've actually missed that. I suppose I was looking for a file_streaming implementation. I think ExternalFile could benefit from implementing it. I'm actually contemplating fixing it, although I'm not so pleased with the user interface of ExternalFile and I would like to limit the access to just a few directories on the file system from the Zope Configuration preferably. I might rewrite the complete product. Problems with Zope and Squid...

Hello all, I'm having some problems trying to get Zope to work correctly with my Squid proxy cache. Specifics: I'm running Zope 2.7.2 and Plone 2 on a Red Hat Linux 9 box. I'm using squid 3 and squidguard to handle the URL rewriting. The rewriting rule in the SquidGuard.conf file looks like this: dbhome /var/lib/squidguard/db logdir /var/log/squid acl { default { redirect http://localhost:9080/VirtualHostBase/http/localhost:80/dms/VirtualHostRoot… } } Where dms is the name of my plone portal. The error I'm getting from the Z2.log is: 127.0.0.1 - Anonymous [11/Oct/2004:17:49:17 +0100] "GET http://localhost/ HTTP/1.0" 404 1512 "" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040616"127.0.0.1 - Anonymous [11/Oct/2004:17:49:18 +0100] "GET http://localhost/p_/ZopeButton HTTP/1.0" 304 308 "http://localhost/" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040616" Why am I getting a URL rewritten to look like localhost/p_/ZopeButton?
