zope 2.7.2-0 installed as service / no service running

Hi ! We have installed zope 2.7.2-0. In the installation wizard we have asked zope to be run as service. But we don't see any service running at all !!!! It's not possible to enter in Zope apart from running zope with the console. Are we missing something ?? Any help appreciated ! Hi, I have a form in a zope page template and when the form is submitted it uses a dtml method to process this form. In the dtml method I have this: <dtml-let msg="ValidateForm(username = username, curpasswd=curpasswd, passwd1=passwd1, passwd2 = passwd2)"> <dtml-return msg> </dtml-let> How do I send this back to the page that contains the form? Continuing to investigate my problem I get now this error " You are not allowed to access 'aq_inner' in this context " for one specific user. I've read that aq_inner is the aquisition system : how is it possible not to have rights on it ? Sebastien

losing object data

Hi, I have had problems with several objects and I suspect the problem has to do with storing complex data structures in a persistent zope object. The behavior I see is that when I display the data in the browser, sometimes it is correct (most of the time actually), but other times it is in it's initial state, as if the object had just been created. First, I tried including self._p_changed = 1 in all the object methods where the data gets modified. When that did not work, I tried changing the object's lists to persistent Zope objects, or OOBTree. That did not work. Finally, I tried changing the object data to individual ints just to see what would happen. Still the same problem. My question is, am I making a bad assumption and attaching the wrong cause of my problem? I can't think what else might be causing the problem, except possibly the fact that the application is multithreaded. But I'm pretty sure this is not causing the problem because all the data read in by one thread ALWAYS is seen as correct in the other thread, at least until the data is displayed in the browser. Crontab functionality

Hi, I'd like to know how to implement a crontab functionality in Zope. I would like to trigger some scripts automatically at a specific time. (e.g. everyday at 01:00). I could do this external via crontab but perhaps there is already such a functionality in Zope? endless loop at startup?

Hi all, I'm running FreeBSD 5.3 and Zope 2.7.2 from ports. I start Zope as a root: # bin/zopectl start . . . daemon process started, pid=3795 all seems fine. However, trying to connect at port 80, the connection just times out after the request has been sent (tested also by telnet to port 80 and typing in the get request, connection just closes without any output). This is what top(1) has to say about the process: PID USERNAME PRI NICE SIZE RES STATE TIME WCPU CPU COMMAND 3867 www 139 0 25836K 24708K RUN 0:26 86.72% 86.72% python 3795 root 76 0 7164K 4096K select 0:00 0.00% 0.00% python One python process consumes about half a minute worth of cpu time before it seems to be killed and spawned over again. What can I be doing wrong? There is something going right as well as I can do bin/zopectl -i and fool around there, so I think something is running. How can I debug to find out what's causing this heavy load? Cheers Nik
