hi, The previous of designer of our website left a code like this The index_html as follows <dtml-var standard_html_header> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('PageTemplates', templates.common.content.gfx.gfx_Reports)"> PageTemplates.<dtml-var PageTemplates> <dtml-with PageTemplates> <dtml-var page_menu> <dtml-var page_content> <dtml-var page_credits> </dtml-with> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> and the folder templates as follows templates (folder) | + common (folder) | | | + page_credits (DTML method) | + content (folder) | | | + page_menu (DTML method) | + gfx (folder) | | | + page_content(DTML method) | + gfx_Reports (folder) | + showFull (DTML method) What it does means 'templates.common.content.gfx.gfx_Reports'? Folders 'common', 'content', 'gfx', and 'gfx_Reports' are in the same level in templates. Does it mean a path for acquisition? where can I that in the zope book? But acutally this expression just return a folder instance(<dtml-var PageTemplates>. If you change it to <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('PageTemplates', templates['gfx_reports'])"> you get the same folder instance, but index_html return error 'Keyerror: page_menu'. How to explain that? access to external text file

I'm new to Zope. I need access to a text file external to Zope to extract some input information for my Zope database. I installed the LocalFs.1-0-0 product. As soon as I added a LocalFS object, my folder became unaccesible. I could access it after I removed LocalFS product. Can you advice me how to read an external text file with or without LocalFS? I work with Zope 2.7.0. Thank you. Elena.

Zope with Apache

Hi all, i have the following rewrite rule -------- NameVirtualHost * <VirtualHost *> ServerName dev.mydomain.com.au ServerAlias dev.mydomain.com.au ServerAdmin webmaster(a)mydomain.com.au RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://192.168.0.4:8080/VirtualHostBase/http/dev.mydomain.com.au:80/mydomai… [P] </VirtualHost> ------- in my VHosts.conf file when i view dev.mydomain.com.au i get the following error. ------- Bad Request Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Reason: You're speaking plain HTTP to an SSL-enabled server port. Instead use the HTTPS scheme to access this URL, please. Hint: https://dev.mydomain.com.au/ ------- when i click on the link it takes me to the default page for an apache site, not the zope page! Has anyone got any ideas? btw. when i get some free time (in the next week hopefully) i will be modifying the zsyncer product to sync in both directions. I am more than happy to send the source to anyone who wants it. -tim zegir

Zope 2.7 data.fs maximum size

I know that previous versions of Zope imposed a limit on the size of the data.fs ( 2GB)? I am not totally sure where all the limits were from -- either the pre 2.3 Python or the operating system underneath or both. With the introduction of Zope 2.7 using Python 2.3 does this restriction go away? (in particular my situation is Win2000/2003 but I am interested in other base operating systems as well). Monstrous URLs and Apache errors persist

Hi all, http://64.5.48.153:8081/VirtualHostBase/http/enterprise-hr.com:80/www/Vi rtualHostRoot/$1 [L] [P] is the lastest draft and still generating long URLs. The sysadmin tried just [P] but I was unable to access the site. The error was: "Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server. Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Object Manager Product Dev Question

I am trying to make a folderish ObjectManager that can display items that exist inside it (in ZODB) as well as some items in a db. I would like the database items to appears as if they exist in the folder. Most of this is for the manage interface. I created a Product that extends ObjectManager. Should I just override objectItems and objectIds? But I am worried about how to handle the _getObj method. Any suggestions? Chris

SESSION Errors

Accessing session variables fails occasionally--perhaps once every 10000 references or so! (See collector issue #848 where I just added a comment.) Presumably this is a read conflict in temporary_folder. The access to the variable uses a python script-- request=container.REQUEST try: session=request['SESSION'] return session[varname] except KeyError: container.oopsSession( varname ) raise oopsSession() is a debug routine which reports that it cannot find REQUEST. This is Zope 2.6.2b3 and Python 2.1.3. This version of Zope is patched to NOT use the (flawed) LowConflictConnection for temporary storage. This is a critical bug for us and is becoming more so as our usage grows. It's a showstopper for our users as we are entirely session based! It's fairly likely that some internal data structure gets corrupted. We tend to fetch session variables in clusters, and when one fails all subsequent ones fail. Sad to say, the failure kills the user's session and releases a burst of emotional energy )-: Any suggestions for a fix or workaround? This particular bug has been seen in 2.7.4 so upgrading is not going to fix things.

I am just wondering where such an expression is mentioned in the zope book. and PageTemplates is just a folder instance. How does it store such path information? REQUEST.set() is a python call, is this expression, 'templates.common.content.gfx.gfx_Reports', a special function? If I have a string storing 'templates.common.content.gfx.gfx_Reports', how to write the REQUEST.set() statement to get the same result? Searchable Jobs Database

Hi all, If I want to enable candidates to do a jobsearch web page on a SQL-type query, do I need to link to an external SQL database or Zope do it all itself. Zope 2.7 problem in accessing help

Hi, I've just manually installed zope 2.7 and for some parts of the help zope ask me a new login to access the information... and i don't know this login :( I'm connected with the administrator account.
