Set cache association on creation

I am using Zope 2.6.2. I would like to automatically set the cache association of files in a folder on creation(the files are created by Zipfolder so I don't have direct control of creation process). Is there some mechanism to do this? Failing that can somebody provide some information/guidance on setting associations in a Python script either in bulk or by individual file after creation. Python 2.3.3 on RedHat 7.3

Is Python 2.3.3 a pre-requirement for Zope 2.7 ? It looks like I'm going to have to bite the bullet and upgrade Zope, but my attempts to get the latest Python installed on RedHat 7.3 have been unsuccessfull so far. Has anyone managed it? I get a number of errors when running configure and can't find a precompiled RPM for RH 7.3. -- John

Detecting a NULL Value

I have a field in my MySQL database which is allowed to be null and has a value of NULL as default. I am retrieving this field and numerous others using a call to dtml-in. After the retrieval, I would like to determine what this value is inside my DTML document/method. What is the equivalent of NULL in Zope? Is it a value of 'None'? I am using the following code but it doesn't work. <dtml-if expr="undergraduate_projects_directed == 'None'"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('undergraduateProjectsDirected', 'Hello')"> </dtml-if> Any help would be greatly appreciated. Internet Explore could not see the image

Hello, I'm so sure it's a Zope question or not, if I'm wrong, sorry for wrong post. I had looked up the answer for a long time,but still have no answer for this strange thing. We use Apache and Zope combination on Linux as web server(behide in DMZ), we store most images on file system, then use rewrite rule to rewrite the request to local file system for images, others go to Zope. But the Internet Explorer could not successfully view the image, while the other browsers(Mozilla) are working fine. the access.log said "GET /images/2004/02/26/thumbs/20040225204655.jpeg HTTP/1.1" 304, mean the image had cached. http.conf RewriteEngine on RewriteLog /var/log/rewrite.log RewriteRule ^/images/(.*) /home/httpd/images/$1 [L] RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://www.taipeitimes.com:9673/VirtualHostBase/http/www.taipeitimes.com:80… [P,R] If you want to try,browser by Internet Explorer on http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/photo/2004/02/26 or different date http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/photo/YYYY/MM/dd Thanks for your time, and passion :o) Terry

content / code separation

Something is puzzling me about the way zope is designed. With FileStorage, or DirectoryStorage code and member content is all stored in the same place. How does one achieve separtion of the code from the content in order to facilitate easy upgrade of code? Basically i want to do is take the Members folder out of my CMF site and store it somewhere else, so i can do a sitewide update of the code in my CMF site by copying over a new Data.fs or a new DirectoryStorage heirarchy and the Members folder will be unaffected. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Downloadable HTML Zope Book

Let 'pdate' be a python datetime object. I can do this: 'tal:attribute="value python:now"' However if I try to print out an attribute of 'now', like 'tal:attributes="value python:pdate.year"', I get a login prompt and the page fails with the following message: [...] * Module Products.PageTemplates.ZRPythonExpr, line 47, in __call__ __traceback_info__: pdate.year * Module Python expression "pdate.year", line 1, in <expression> Unauthorized: You are not allowed to access 'year' in this context Anyone know how to avoid this? Virtual Host Monster generates a monsterous URL!

A quick visit to www.enterprise-hr.com works but generates this huge URL: http://64.5.48.153:8081/VirtualHostBase/http/enterprise-hr.com:80/www/Virtu… The httpd.conf I suggested to him was <VirtualHost 64.5.48.153> ServerName www.enterprise-hr.com DocumentRoot /websites/enterpri/zope RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://64.5.48.153:8081/VirtualHostBase/http/enterprise-hr.com:80/www/Virtu… </VirtualHost> The VHM documentation is kinda dense so does anyone see why I'm getting the huge URLs? -- Best regards, Patrick Kirk Mobile: 07876 560 646

CMF Filesystem Directory View

Hello, if the answer to my question is already available somewhere, please let me know... I looked around quite a bit. I am trying to add a filesystem directory view (Zope 2.7, Plone 2.0), and can't figure out how to add new directories to the list of directories available to choose from. Could anyone clue me in?
