Yes, use the "exists:" TAL expression. So you would do: <span tal:condition="exists: here/request/results" /> or something like that ... More info in the ZPT reference ... Searching a FieldIndex by ZPT

Hi Zopers So, I finally managed to search a FieldIndex in my Catalog in Python like this: request = {'year_of_birth_index':{'query':[1000, 1500], 'range': 'minmax'}} obj = self.Catalog.search(request) print obj.__len__(), 'objects found' for i in range(obj.__len__()): print i , obj.__getitem__(i).title, obj.__getitem__(i).getObject().year_of_birth Now I want to do the exact same thing in ZPT, but get no results, why? <form action="index_report" method="get"> <table> <tr><th>Search Year of Birth</th> <td><input name="year_of_birth_index.query:record" width=30 value="1000, 1500"></td></tr> <input type="hidden" name="year_of_birth_index.range:record" value="minmax"> <tr><td colspan=2 align=center> <input type="SUBMIT" value="Submit Query"> </td></tr> </table> </form> Another detail: when I get results in the report form via "results here/Catalog" and put them in a batch, how do I get the total length of the results? problem with read only zope. Does not load some products (Archetypes)

Hi there, I am creating a CD with the copy of a site. The idea is, that the CD could be used in places where there is no internet access. No my problem is, that on of the products (Archetypes) is not initialized correctly at startup. And therefor all dependent products are not initialized neither. After Zope has been loaded, I can go to the control panel and load archetypes and the dependent products manually. Unfortunately this is not something I can ask the users "in the field" to do. Has anybody an Idea what I could do, to have Archetypes loaded the "official" way. thanks Robert

Keeping data throughout a session

Hi, I've got the following problem: I want to keep several choices users make during a site visit persistent in memory during their session. Not all of those fields appear on each page or are needed, but the values should still be available all the time so they can be used for various selections. Now I could simply use hidden input fields and carry the values over and over from one page to another, but that seems quite an awkward way to do this. So I store them as Session data, which works fine so far except for if a user opens several browser windows, which however happens quite often. In that case, changes done in one window affect the selection in another window, as there is only one shared session object obviously. Does anyone have an idea what the best way would be to handle this? I'd like to automatically keep values valid that are selected at random times for seperate windows and their subwindows, without affecting values stored for other windows. And all of that hopefully without major changes to various places in the DTML and script files... Thanks in advance, Michael Rinner

TAL and quotes

Anyone got an idea for who to work round quotes not being escaped in TAL? I've got a line: <input tal:attributes="value here/mystring" /> mystring may contain a quote that needs to be escaped to " It's not automatically escaped by the TAL engine, unfortunately if I write code to escape it myself then I end up with &quot; because although TAL fails to escape " it does escape &! Also, I can't turn escaping off completely with structure as that doesn't work with attributes. I put this in the Collector but I really need something sooner. Thanks for any ideas. Andrew

In the following example I expected 'dbConnection' to be instantiated as a child of 'foo', but it instead is instantiated as a sibling to 'foo'. product & external method synchronizer

Hi, I'm planning to deploy Zope within my company intranet. We have 6 intranet sites. I've found ZSyncer to be very useful to synchronize ZODB objects to the development site's. However, I still need some tools to synchronize our customized zope-products and external methods. Any suggestion will be appreciate.
