Clearing _v_ attributes

Hi, I would like to know the best way to ensure all _v_ attributes of a particular object get cleared in all Zope instances. My configuration is : several Zope instances <-> Zeo I was thinking about changing a non volatile attribute on the object : this should cause it to be reloaded in all connections of all Zope instances, isn't it ? (I know the downside : storing a new version of the object in the ZODB, but it does not matter to me on this particular case). It did that, but it does not appear to work... It seems that on the Zope instance I do it it's fine, but not on the others. Hi list. I've been chewing this over for a while and my solutions seem unduly complicated. I wonder if I'm overlooking something simple. I have a page template which contains a macro. This template is used by itself and also called from other pages which invoke the macro. When called as a macro, I want two images included which I don't want when it is called alone. Here's an extract: <img tal:replace="structure here/images/q66" tal:condition="includeimage" /> <div metal:define-slot="body"> Some default content... </div> <img tal:replace="structure here/images/q99" tal:condition="includeimage" /> What I /think/ I need is some code I can put before the <tal:macro-define...> that sets some variable I can test in this tal:condition. Get error about Unauthorized

Hello. I've been through the Zope "Web Application Construction Kit" book tutorial, chapter 5, "Building a Portal and Adding Serices" "Creating a Type with ZClasses". Each time, when attempting to add the new ZClass object in a user folder, this error is generated: Exception Type Unauthorized Exception Value You are not allowed to access 'manage_addProduct' in this context Does anyone have any sense of what this means and how to fix it? My Zope is 2.7.4 running on Sci-Linux and python is 2.3.4. Thanks. Completely Random FTP Failures

Hi All, We're using LDAP user folder for FTP authentication. Dreamweaver is our primary FTP client. (Oh, and its Zope 2.7.4/LDAPUserFolder 2.4) Every once in a while, it doesn't work. 70% of the time its fine. Then, From the FTP Client Log: 220 pollux FTP server (Medusa Async V1.23 [experimental]) ready. USER pollej 331 Password required. PASS 230 Login successful. SYST 215 UNIX Type: L8 CWD /www/it 250 CWD command successful. CWD /www/it/_mm 550 No such directory. CWD / 250 CWD command successful. MKD /www/it/XYIZNWSK 530 Unauthorized. RMD /www/it/XYIZNWSK 530 Unauthorized. RMD /www/it/xyiznwsk 530 Unauthorized. CWD /www/it 530 Unauthorized. Virtual Hosts

Hello Lists, I'm using VirtualHostMonster and Apache to manage different Virtual Hosts. Everything works perfect except the case where I want Zope to serve the contents of http://www.mysite.com/zope and the rest by Apache. In my httpd.conf I have following: RewriteRule ^/zope/(.*) http://localhost:8080/VirtualHostBase/http/www.mysite.com:80/ VirtualHostRoot/_vh_zope/$1 [P,L] Now: If I try to add a "Silva Document" within the "Silva Management Interface" the URL redirects to: https://www.mysite.com/zope/silva/edit/add_object? meta_type=Silva%2520Folder (-> and then I get a System problem...) instead of https://www.mysite.com/zope/silva/edit/add_object? meta_type=Silva%20Folder See: %2520 instead of %20 Is this an error of mine (my configuration/setup), a bug of Silva or VirtualHostMonster or...? installing Zope and Python in userdir/linux

hi list, i am using Zope,Python and Plone for around 2 weeks now locally on an OSX machine. now i planned to port a rather big site to ZOPE, but i run into the following problem: our linux machine is running trustix TSL linux, which has python 2.2.3 installed system wide. Now, as i want to run the latest stable ZOPE version and also Plone 2.0.5, i am thinking about how to proceed. >The recommended versions at the moment (for Plone 2.0.x) >are Python 2.3.3 or 2.3.4 and Zope 2.7.x i was wondering if it is possible to install a current Python release in a local user dir and run ZOPE from that custom Python version? any clues or instructions how to do so? thanks! When I restart zope server I get this error msg "The document contains no data"

In relation to the error "The document contains no data" I compiled Zope from src i.e tgz I am using Zope 2.7.0 with Bugfix Th Products I am using are the latest . I compiled and install Zope from source i.e tgz I installedd version of Zope 2.7.0. Below are the versions of the products I am trying to install into my zope instance and thus get the error message above. cd into directory and using less version.txt fcForum-2-0-7 Squishdot-1-5-0 ImagePagerFolder 0.05 The Default Products are below: CMF Plone 2.0.3 Zope 2.7.0 with Bug Fix . Windows Low Fragementation Heap yields speedup of ~15%

Dear all, I'm running a large Zope application on a 1x1GHz CPU 1GB mem Window XP Prof machine using Zope 2.7.3 and Py 2.3.4 The application typically builds large lists by appending and extending them. We regularly observed that using a given functionality a second time using the same process was much slower (50%) than when it ran the first time after startup. This behavior greatly improved with Python 2.3 (thanks to the improved Python object allocator, I presume). Nevertheless, I tried to convert the heap used by Python to a Windows Low Fragmentation Heap (available on XP and 2003 Server). This improved the overall run time of a typical CPU-intensive report by about 15% (overall run time is in the 5 minutes range), with the same memory consumption. I consider 15% significant enough to let you know about it. Using custom comparasion function in sequence.sort

I'd like to use a custom comparasion function in a PythonScript to sort certain objects, using the sequence.sort utility function. In the doc-string for sort in sequence/SortEx.py, there is a line about custom function: - "xxx" -- a user-defined comparison function So I defined a comparasion function in the PythonScript and passed its name to sort. However, when the script is called, I got the error: * Module DocumentTemplate.sequence.SortEx, line 66, in sort * Module DocumentTemplate.sequence.SortEx, line 175, in make_sortfunctions AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'getitem' A closer look at make_sortfunctions shows that it tries to find the custom comparasion in the name space '_', which is default to None in sort(). So it seems I need only supply the correct name space as the third, undocumented parameter to sequence.sort for it to find my comparasion function. I tried to use globals() but this seems to be unavailable in a PythonScript. So the question is, how to pass the correct name space containing my comparasion function to the sort() function? My PythonScript code segment looks like below: results = ... def my_cmp(x, y): return cmp(x,y) sort_on = (('property', 'my_cmp', 'asc'),) return sequence.sort(results, sort_on) Thanks for advices. Yes, you are right that works fine and is cleaner. My point is that Zope does not seem to render tal statements between <script> tags. They get ignored.
