Why do you want to recode into DTML? I think that is piece of good code and much faster than DTML. read-only-database

Hi, I'm trying to do a batch add of users to the standard acl_users folder. Note quite a total success or total failure just yet. First I made a text file (usr_pwd.txt) in the form of password space username. and placed it (temporarily) in the Extensions directory. Then an external method (LoadUsers) to read it: def LoadUsers(self): f=open('/var/lib/zope/Extensions/usr_pwd.txt', 'r') y=f.readlines() return y And a script (user_load): ## Script (Python) "user_load" ##bind container=container ##bind context=context ##bind namespace=_ ##bind script=script ##bind subpath=traverse_subpath ##parameters= ##title= ## y=context.LoadUsers() for x in y: z=x.split(' ') acl = container.restrictedTraverse( '/foobar/acl_users' ) acl.userFolderAddUser( z[1], z[0], '', '' ) return 0 I hit the Test tab and now I have an acl_users folder full of users with the correct user names, and their passwords show the correct number of characters, however I can't log in using any of the user/password combinations. Should the path '/foobar/acl_users' been simply '/foobar/' or '/foobar' ? Any suggestions? Thanks, Sean

Zope hangs and Python eats all memory

Dear list members, I am running Zope 2.9.6. on a 64-Bit Suse Linux 10.1 machine (9 Gbyte of RAM) with Python 2.4.3. installed. From time to time, Zope hangs and I cannot access it anymore. I tried to use the "Zope DeadlockDebugger" but if my Zope hangs I cannot call the URL "http://myzopesite:8080/manage_debug_threads?secret_password" to let Zope DeadlockDebugger show any useful information. Zope does not response. If Zope hangs, the python process eats all the memory and the machine starts to swap. Wrong time displayed on events

I've just installed Plone 2.5.1 on Zope 2.9.6 running on FreeBSD 6-STABLE. On my newly created Plone site, whenever I add an event, it's displayed with the wrong time. For instanced, if I create one that runs between 2006-12-05 19:30 and 22:00, it gets rendered like: (<span class="location">Some Event</span>, from <abbr class="dtstart" title="2006-12-05 19:30:00">2006-12-05 13:30</abbr> to <abbr class="dtend" title="2006-12-05 22:00:00">2006-12-05 16:00</abbr>) The server and I live in the CST time zone, which accounts for the 6-hour offset (as though I entered the time in UTC and it's converting it to CST for display). But since I never entered a timezone anywhere, why's it doing any conversion at all instead of just assuming that all times entered are local to the server? Is there a way to fix this, other than deliberately entering all times for events six hours too late, and letting Plone "fix" the display? -- Kirk Strauser Daycos

Zope + Oracle + Cron

We have zope installation that uses an Oracle backend to store data on. We also have the system setup to do a backup of the database and Zope Installation everyday. Everything runs smoothly until it comes time to start Zope back up. For some reason whenever the script tries to start Zope back up, it comes up but with a broken ZOracleDA product. It complains about not being able to find the library file called libclntsh.so.9.0. If I try to start Zope myself from command line right after the script is done running (actually stop it then start it again) it works and connects to Oracle fine. I've tried using "nice" to up the priority level but it doesn't seem to work. I also thought that maybe I wasn't giving oracle enough time to start up so I've tried adding sleep commands to the script, again, with no luck. If anyone has any experience in this field or has any suggestions, please let me know. This is a quite annoying situation, as this server is quite important to the company and downtime is a bad thing. -David

I have installed Plone with openSUSE 10.2 (working). I have also installed LDAPUserFolder and LDAPMultiPlugins (working). The default installation of Plone is located in "/var/opt/zope/default". I have loaded mod_proxy, mod_proxy_http, mod_rewrite and mod_headers. I have also compiled and load mod_ntlml. I tested mod_ntlm on just an ordinary directory that contained an "index.html" and it worked fine. Mod_ntlm asked for username and password, which authenticated. I set internet explorer to "automatic logon with current username and password" and i was able to get to the web page without typing a username and password.
