I'm getting the following error: "Cache values may only be in one cache" I'm getting this error every time I refresh my skin product. So I have to remember to restart zope every time I make a change. I'm running Plone 2.5.2 and Zope 2.9.6 On this page: http://plone.org/documentation/error/one_cache Wichert Akkerman says: """Zope no longer supports product refreshing fully. For products using the component architecture it will probably never work. For others it can break as well. This is a Zope matter, not a Plone problem.""" Is this really true? Wouldn't it be an idea to remove the functionality completely then?

I have experienced on my installation that Zope decides that the character set should be iso-8859-1 for IE7 even no HTTP_ACCEPT_CHARSET is sent from IE7 and preferred charset is utf-8. Firefox submits HTTP_ACCEPT_CHARSET and Zope handles that OK. http://www.zope.org/Collectors/Zope/2280 <http://www.zope.org/Collectors/Zope/2280> I'm wondering what the correct way to set up Zope to use utf-8? Have set sys.setdefaultencoding('utf-8') in /usr/local/lib/python2.4/site.py. Have set management_page_charset='utf-8' as property of / in ZMI. Have set default-zpublisher-encoding utf-8 in etc/zope.conf. After the comments in the Collector above I'm wondering what to do if I should not set the sys.setdefaultencoding()? Not changing the default encoding I always get a decode error when trying to save a page template with non-ascii characters. Regards Jost

Here is my configure.zcml file, which is identical to the one Paul Everitt says to write: <configure xmlns="http://namespaces.zope.org/browser"> <page name="hello" template="helloworld.html" for="zope.app.container.interfaces.Icontainer" permission="zope.Public" /> </configure> and here is the error message that I get when I reboot the Zope 3.3 server on Windows XP: ConfigurationError: ('Invalid value for', 'for', 'ImportError: Module zope.app.container.interfaces has no global Icontainer') Everything I did was identical to the training video. What went wrong?

cpu load 99 percent a lot in plone evinironment

We are running a seperate zope instance that contains a number of plone portal. Zope version 2.8.2 plone version 2.1.1 python 2.3.5 since a few weeks the instance 'hangs', When i check the processes usually python is at 99%, but i've also had time where zope was not responding but the server load was almost zero (deadlocking ?). I've installed deadlockdebugger and there are some entries of 'slow' pages in there, but i've checked these pages and they do not contain any 'big' queries or possible slow processes. The page loops over a results set from mysql, this set contains 400 - 500 results. I've noticed that if it loops over 500 results instead of i.e. 20 the page takes almost 3 to 4 seconds longer to load. I've never seen this kind of behaviour before (i have seen it with bad queries and such, but thats not the case here). Will a zope update possibly solve this problem, or can someone inform me about the deadlockdebugger output and HOW is should read it? Extract Files from ZODB

I have a ZODB that was being used by Plone to store files(Word documents, Images, etc.). Plone is no longer working. I want to extract (retrieve) the files from the ZODB. Is this possible? If so, how is this accomplished. Note: I cannot access Plone or anything in Plone because it is not working. I am looking for a solution that involves working only with ZODB through Zope, not a procedure that attempts to troubleshoot Plone.

add user from python problem

The following script adds a new folder with a user folder inside it and then adds a user to the user folder. It works fine but the new user is unable to log in until I go to the ZMI and go to change the user password. I do not need to do anything more than press the change button on this page for the user to be then able to log in using the password specified in the script. Given that I will be adding up to 2000 users at a time with an ammended version of this script, this could become a little inconvenient. Am I doing something wrong? What happened to FreeZope?

Does anyone know what happened to FreeZope? It looks like my site (and all other member sites I tried) are gone. Features like registration & bug reporting are broken. thanks Daniel
