Auto Cataloging my ZCatalog

Hello, I have a ZCatalog that my users use to catalog there news articles which are (DTML Documents). I have already explained it to them to always input the id for the new DTML Documents under "with ids" section on the Find Objects tab on the ZMI to catalog new articles. But most time they will not and they end up cataloging the entire articles which runs to 13,000 records. What i want is either to be able to display error when the "with ids" is missing on Find Objects form or to be able to automate it. For example use a python code. I am new to python but very eager to learn. Any help will be highly appreciated.

What I did finally is that I deleted the folders in both /tmp/zope and /opt/Zope-2.10 folders, and installed Zope Again and everything is working fine right now! but i still want to understand why this happened to me? I have the exact same problem and have been unable to find a solution anywhere. RSS to HTML in Zope

Hi, Im still struggling to get an RSS feed converted to HTML in Zope using Universal Feed Parser http://www.feedparser.org/ + This feedpaser setup http://www.zope.org/Members/johntynan/feedparser I'm able to get an RSS feed converted to what looks like a dictionary and view it, however it shows up as a rendered string on the page. Whenever I try to get any of the keys, no matter how, I've tried every possible scenario, I get an error back every time. "Blah Blah" is not callable..., You care not allowed to access "blah Blah" in this context., Value 0, etc... I've also tried using the RSS Document in the XML Kit which ended up causing a runaway python method and took down Zope so I'd like to avoid using it. Half the time it gives back an error message anyway. If anyone has a relatively easy way to convert an RSS feed to HTML in Zope I would greatly appreciate any feedback on how to set this up. Thanks in advance.

Dictionary Key Error from Parsed RSS

Hi everyone, I've used Universal Feed Parser to parse an RSS feed. Then used these instructions below to get the parsed data into Zope via an External Method. Everything seems to work fine except that I keep getting an error whenever I try to access a key from the returned data. The resulting data is returned as a dictionary and if I render it as is it works fine, however in both ZPT and DTML, when trying to access a key, for instance "feed" or "href" from the dictionary I'm prompted to login, which I'm unable to do with my admin login. After hitting cancel I get a Key Error that says You are not able to access 'href' (or whatever) in this context. Is there any way to somehow let Zope know that this data is 'ok'? Thanks in advance. "Pre-requisites ============== - Zope 2.5.x (developed and tested with Zope 2.5.1, but other minor versions should work as well) - feedparser.py 3.0 (http://diveintomark.org/projects/feed_parser/) developed and tested with 3.0 beta 22, the latest version Installation ============ 1. Installing feedparser.py --------------------------- 1.1. Unzip the archive (preserving path names) into /Zopesite/bin/lib/ 1.2. open a command prompt window and go to /Zopesite/bin/lib/ feedparser/ 1.3. enter the command (sans quotes): '..\..\python setup.py install' 1.4. after installation, enter the command: '..\..\python feedparsertest.py' 1.5. wait for testing to complete. On my laptop, 2051 tests ran in 118.481s 2. Packing the Data.fs with wget fails since 2.9.7

Hi, This blog entry shows how to use wget to pack the zope database, which you can then put in a cronjob to call each day or week: http://blogs.translucentcode.org/mick/2004/03/10/using_wget_to_pack_zope/ It is just one line: wget -q http://username:password@YOURSITE.com:8080/Control_Panel/Database/manage_pa… But as a comment on that blog shows: this does not work anymore. Zope now requires that you visit that form using POST, which is not what wget is doing automatically. a warning message before performing an action

Dears, I have a web page with some buttons (<form action=...) to perform some action (by calling a python script). However, some actions (like 'delete' a picture for example) I would like to warn user before performing it. I recall from php how to pop up a window (or a drop down in Mac OSX) with a warning message prompting a 'Yes' or 'No' confirmation and I was wondering how would I do it with Zope, with an example if possible. Hi, I am trying to build Zope 2.9.7 on Ubuntu Feisty Fawn 7.04. I am probably enjoying some sort of configuration error. Though I have installed python-tz package, the installer barks about missing 'Antarctica'. zope stopped working suddenly

Greetings First , I am glad to join you at this list. I installed Zope on Fedora Core 6, and started to learn how to use it. for a few days i was able to access the management interface (ZMI) through http://127.0.0.1:8080 after starting zope through .../zopectl start. but as a sudden I found myself unable to enter to the ZMI anymore. The browser displays an error as if zope is not started at all. I am a newbie in both Linux and Zope, so please can anyone pass me some tips on how to check what is causing the problem and how to solve it?
