Edit Subclass of File using ExternalEditor fails

Hi, I have a ZCLass with File as the base. I need the possebility to edit Instances of this class with ExternalEditor (0.7). Opening the Editor works fine, but when I try to save the file back to the server nothing happens. I did it also on the command-line saving the link and calling zopeedit.py with that file - nothing happens, no error - nothing I have all permissions to "777" - it can't be something with permissions - or ? Dear: engineer I install zope on Linux was succeed . But when I start it the operating system cue : Traceback (innermost last): File /home/chrism/Zope-2.6.2-linux2-x86/z2.py, line 843, in ? Absolutely! Search on the Zope.org site for information on localization or i18n (internationalization). The Plone add-on product (plone.org) is particularly strong in this area and would be worth your investigation. This is one of the real strengths of Zope. Setting zsession_del_notify in temp_folder (Transient Object Container)

Hi, Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong with setting up ZSESSION_DEL_NOTIFY to be set on start up when running multiple instances and starting/restarting using "zopectl restart my_instance_name"? We have 2 instances and they are working/restarting fine when using zopectl. I have tried adding the line "zsession-del-notify:/my_script_to_run_on_session_info" to zopectlrc.conf or my_instance_name.conf but it is not used. I have tried all sorts of variations on this with no luck. The only successful way I have been able to set the ZSESSION_DEL_NOTIFY var is by editing Application.py directly, which isn't the best plan. Is there something else I need to do to have the optional vars passed? I have looked thru zopectl, ZopeCTL.py, and the man doc but can not work out what I am missing. Sorry, posted the wrong traceback in the previous post - the traceback happens after the buffer space errors (which are the first ones to appear). Also, once this happens, all "connection related" things starts giving problems (download managers, mail clients, etc.). From there on it seems everything that needs to connect to something remote cannot do it. This is probably not Zope specific, but since I get this in a Zope product I am writing, I will post here. My product uses urllib.urlopen to retrieve images generated by an Internet Map server and then displays them on a web page. Every now and again I get an "error" exception (I guess this is socket.error) with the description "No buffer space available". This probably has to do with the fact that Windows 2000 Professional only allows a limited amount of connections and this happens when you run out of connections (I found this after searching around for this type of error). Unfortunately I do not have the choice to go to a better operating system that is not crippled in this way. The problem seems especially bad when running more than one instance of Zope in addition to the Map server. Is there any way of determining from Python how many connections are left? Or would this rather be somewhere in the Windows libraries? Any suggestions on working around this problem - am I doing something wrong with urllib.urlopen that may cause connections to not be released? Key Error Strangeness with sql qeuries

Hello list... I'm having bizarre issues. When I try to create a sql method, such as this one... update dealer_entity set dealer_entity.contract_start=<dtml-sqlvar contract_start type="string" > where dealer_entity.dealer_code = '<dtml-var dealer_code >' I get the following error... It's rather bizarre as I have existing queries in the same directory which work just fine. I'm using a login with manager/owner permissions, which is the same user that has created the other objects in this folder. Have you any suggestions as to what could be causing this? zope version is 2-3-3 Thanks in Advance.
