To some zope developer in the list, why is not taking the enconding from the zope.conf file? Problemwith unicode

Hi list, my system is Zope 2.11.4 with default enconding iso-8859-1 for in/out and SQL Server 2008. I'm trying to fix a bad desing with a sql server database. it has a mix of encodings, traditional_spanish and modern_spanish. And some tables with both type of fields, unicode and normal (nvarchar and varchar) . The new database is Latin-1 enconding (SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AI) with only varchar fields. Zope2: Handling multiple object creations at once from multiple clients and processes?

Hello ZOPE users, I am dealing with the famous (Write) ConflictErrors in a module that is fetching remote files from a remote URL with the requests lib, storing them as objects with the binary data residing on the file system (no blob is stored in the ZODB). The upload/import routine works by using jQuery’s ajax() and POSTing to the upload handler and using SSE to return a progress while the import is running and before creating the actual object inside the ZODB. The first process of course always works fine, but when a second or third starts these trigger a ConflictError and are beeing restarted, i.e. all selected remote files are downloaded again and then create the objects inside the ZODB. All objects are created inside the same tree structure and most of the time inside the same Folder. The conflict’s object oid mentioned in the error message actually is the new object beeing created. I first thought this had sth. to do with writing to the same object while the addObject routine is running, but it does not seem so. What I don’t understand is why the first process writes to something that triggers the conflict with the second process. What’s the recommended way of dealing with such mass creation of objects running at the same time that are triggered by AJAX calls on the same context without creating conflicts? Best Sebastian

Hello, I discovered Zope, however, I see an error output from one of my clients. Indeed its website appears for a few hours this error message: Zope Error Zope HAS Encountered an error while publishing this resource. Error type: IndexError Error Value: 0 Server side all seems ok: - Apache is up - Php fpm is up - Mysql is up The logs do not show me any errors, would you therefore an idea of how I could identify this problem? zeo clients not synchronized, modifications not shown

Hi there, I have in production a Zope server from many years now: - Zope 2.11.4-final, python 2.4.6 - 2.4.6 - ZEO with 3 clients via sockets on the same machine - running a custom CMS (not Plone based) Last weekend, without touching the server or the code, a strange problem starting to occur and is repeating since: - when I try to modify an object (e.g. only the title) the saved data is not available in the browser after that. If I look in the ZMI the transaction is there. If I refresh the page the modification appears - also happens on an add or a delete (the object is deleted bu still appears in the listing) My impression is that the save itself is handled by lets say client1 and then the redirect and render of the edit page by a different one - client2. I tried different things: 1. pack data fs and restart all clients and zeo 2. if i try to change the title of the object via ZMI Properties tab it works fine - I always see the changes. On our CMS edit page we do an explicit recatalog of the object after the save. I thought maybe the catalog is broken somehow so I updated it - problem still there. 3. I checked the data fs with fstest.py, also checked for broken BTreeFolders - no issues detected. 4. I put the production database on a development server without zeo, just a single zope instance - everything works just fine. So, I can reproduce the problem but now clue so far about the cause.
