ZBabel discontinued?

Hi folks, I have an Unicode error in ZBabel and started to look for some bug fix. However I discovered that nothing has been changed since 27 Oct. 2001. Does anybody know if the project is discontinued? Regards Florian Reiser

LDAPUserFolder - Users: Manage user records

Hello, I configured my Users Base DN to "Utilisateurs" which is a root of a subtree for users (but there is no users stored directly in "Ustilisateurs" DN). My DIT is like this: o=rpn.ch cn=Utilisateurs <= root for users cn=EPrim <= school level unit cn=Auvernier <= geographical unit cn=BaderE <= user cn=BeuretSY <= user ... cn=Bayards <= geographical unit ... cn=ESec1 <= school level unit ... So, I fail to find users becauses there are not directly inside "cn=Utilisateurs". What can I do? Thanks. Problem with reindexing of ZCatalog

Hi There I am facing a problem with the reindexing of zcatalog.After catalogging the file i am giving this fileObj.portal_catalog.manage_catalogReindex(REQUEST,RESPONSE,fileObj.folder .absolute_url()) command to reindex zcatalog so that i am able to search on the files. But as the size of my zcatalog keeps on increasing it is giving me Error Type: WinHttp.WinHttpRequest (0x80072EE2) The operation timed out /default.asp, line 489 Can anyone help me with this. I've used it on my JMZPTMacros product and it worked perfect: manage_addSoftwareForm.software_type_list = [ {'value': 'OS'}, {'value': 'Applikation'}, {'value': 'Service'} ] You don't have to define the method manage_addSoftwareForm as previously suggested. You just create the attribute on the fly. Then you can call it as an attribute of your ZPT. RESPONSE.Write question

I have been trying to get a test routine working that uses RESPONSE.write... without success: Here is the dtml code I have been using: <dtml-call "RESPONSE.setHeader('Transfer-Encoding', 'chunked')"> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.setHeader('Content-Type', 'text/plain')"> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.write('Starting')"> <dtml-call "wait(5)"> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.setHeader('Transfer-Encoding', 'chunked')"> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.setHeader('Content-Type', 'text/plain')"> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.write('\n\nDone')"> The 'wait' routine is a simple external method: import time def wait(self, secs): time.sleep(secs) return What I expected to see was the word 'Started' displayed in my browser, followed by a 5 second delay, and then see the word 'Done' displayed. I get: An error was encountered while publishing this resource. Invalid request The parameter, data, was omitted from the request. Custom Method to edit PythonScript

Hi, I would like create a custom DTML-Method to edit a python-script within Zope. The reason for this is that I would like to be able to control in certain ways so I don't want to use "ZPythonScriptHTML_editForm". The user must not be able to change the whole script but only parts I let him see. Something like the 'manage_edit' object of DTML-Methods is (more or less) what I need. The result would be a web-form that lets the user edit some parts of the script body, the parameter and some aditional python code is added by a script/method. (I hope this makes sense ...) I am trying understand how the "PythonScript.py" does things but do to my limited knowledge (Zope-Newbie) I get stuck. My idea was to use the read() function to read the body into my custom form an write it back with the write() function. But doing this I don't use the nifty code-checking feature which I would like to use. Could someone please give me a hint if I am totally off-track? Regards Christoph

I have a fairly large intranet site built on Zope. At first it mainly generated reports, but it is starting to be more of a web application then a reporting tool and I am thinking I need to make some decisions now about design. Eventually, I would like my users to be able to access the underlying services with a client other than a web browser. Do I carry on as I am and then build a client that accesses the zope objects via XMLRPC, or do I start making an external python API that I can then access through Zope or my other client(PyQT gui, PyGTK gui, etc.), or... Any advice appreciated.
