You are not allowed to access ...., even allowing ?!

Hi, I'm writing a Product called "Groupware" which shoud provide minimal Groupware Function. As a Database System I decided to use PostgresQL and my DB-Connection Class (writen in python using psycopg) allready works perfectly (outside Zope). But now I'm not making any progress since serveral days. After I added the Groupware Product in the ZMI, I added a "Python Script" and just added one line to import my DB-Connection Class (Filename DB.py, the class itself I name "database") in the python script: ----- from Products.Groupware.DB import database ---- Then the browser starts a HTTP-Authentification which results in Error Type: Unauthorized Error Value: You are not allowed to access Groupware in this context In my __init__.py I inserted the following lines to allow an import import Groupware from ImageFile import ImageFile from Products.PythonScripts.Utility import allow_module, allow_class from AccessControl import ModuleSecurityInfo, ClassSecurityInfo from Globals import InitializeClass from DB import database allow_class (database) ... ... The DB_Connection Class works ouside Zope what on earth can I do to make it working inside zope? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Bernhard Kahlbacher

session confusion
by Michael Hauser 04 Sep '03

04 Sep '03

I'm trying to create dynamic charts with ZGDChart and a python script by passing values to the script from a page template form using session data. It's working correctly in Mozilla. However, in Internet Explorer, it only works correctly the first time the form is submitted. After that, the chart continues to use the initial values each time. I can see that the session data values are getting updated but the script isn't getting the new values. Below is an example that illustrates the behavior. Any suggestions as to what might be going on? I create a default ZGDChart object and set it to Chart Type "Line_2D" and then select Python Script as the Data Method and test.py as the selected script. ------------ test.py ------------- session = context.session_data_manager.getSessionData() return [(i, i) for i in session.get('start'), session.get('end')] ------------ test.pt ------------- <html> <head> <title tal:content="template/title">The title</title> </head> <body> <div tal:define="global submit request/form/submit | nothing"> <form action="test.pt" method="POST"> Start: <input tal:attributes="value request/form/start | nothing" type="text" name="start" value=""><br> End: <input tal:attributes="value request/form/end | nothing" type="text" name="end" value=""><br> <input type="Submit" name="submit" value="Plot Specified Range"> </form> </div> <div tal:condition="submit"> <span tal:define="dummy python:request.SESSION.set('start', request.form.get('start')); dummy python:request.SESSION.set('end', request.form.get('end'))"> <p><b>Plotting range from <span tal:content="request/form/start">start</span> to <span tal:content="request/form/end">end</span></b></p> <img src="testchart"> </span> </div> </body> </html>

Re: [Zope] Help with String conversion in Zope
by Dennis Allison 04 Sep '03

I'm not sure what you need -- I assume you want to do a search for Zope objects based on their content, then do a search and replace on their content. The "by hand" apprach is to use the FIND tab to locate the objects and then edit the objects through the ZMI. Is that right? If that works for you, take a look at the ZopeFind method in lib/python/OFS/FindSupport.py. Using that you can get a list of (path, method) pairs of objects to be edited. You then would need to write a zope method to do the actual edits. (You probably should copy the zope list on all communications liek this as (1) you get input from a larger group, and (2) others can benefit from the collective solution to your problem. For these reasons, I've copied the Zope list here.) On Thu, 4 Sep 2003, enrica dente wrote: > Hy Allison, > > I emailed you sometime ago. I need your help again. This time I really need > it. Another Formulator tweak (SingleItemsWidget)
by Jean Jordaan 04 Sep '03

04 Sep '03

Hi Martijn I propose changing this in Widget.SingleItemsWidget:: def render_items(self, field, key, value, REQUEST): # get items items = field.get_value('items') # check if we want to select first item if not value and field.get_value('first_item') and len(items) > 0: try: text, value = items[0] except ValueError: value = items[0] to this:: def render_items(self, field, key, value, REQUEST): # get items items = field.get_value('items') # check if we want to select first item if not value and field.get_value('first_item') and len(items) > 0: text, value = _splitItem(items[0]) elif not isinstance(value, StringType): try: value = value[0] # Are we some kind of sequence? except TypeError: pass # Lets just hope value is the same type as items .. The changes are: - use `_splitItem(items[0])` to avoid breaking when `items[0]` happens to be a 2-char string - catering for when value is ['thing'] instead of just 'thing' (the `not isinstance(value, StringType)` clause). I'm a bit unsure about the details of the 2nd change. Can value legitimately be a list (i.e. can items be a list of lists?) (This isn't a patch because we're too far out of sync with cvs HEAD :/ ) Regards, -- Jean Jordaan http://www.upfrontsystems.co.za
