Who holds the domain zope.se?

Hello, [sorry for the crosspost] I was wondering if anyone here knew the person who holds the domain zope.se? I am curious about the plans for it... Thet site has a "No website here" in German, but the holder seems to be living in Stockholm: http://www.nic.se/domaner/domansok_result.shtml?domain=zope.se This question is actually related to the fact that I am wondering abut zope activities in Sweden. I'd like very much to have Zope promoted as a reliable platform "commercial-grade" application (i.e. one that is as accepted as Java and PHP solutions). I have no personal commercial interest in promoting zope (at least yet ;-) - my interest lies in being able to promote zope as an alternative to solutions like Oracle AS + Portal, uPortal, etc, etc. This will make my life much easier in the future... Zope slowdown publishing big tables

Hi, I have recently written a few pages which either generate or contain large html tables. I started to notice some fairly substantial slowdown with tables over 100 or so rows. At a guess, I assume this is zope rendering all the <tr> and <td> tags looking for dtml, but it seems a bit slow even for that. We're running pretty substantial servers with plenty of memory, etc. I'd be interested in any good ways to improve the speed of these pages. The obvious answer would be caching, but I'd rather avoid the complications that entails if possible. I'm more interested in what Zope's really doing to slow itself down here. REQUEST.unset('property') in DTML ?

Hi all, I was read in archives about REQUEST.unset to unset property. But published patch is little older (1999) and my Zope 2.5.1 is totally different than that patch. Zope does not protest when I save DTML method with REQUEST.unset('property'), but when I access page, then Zope give me error that unknown keyword unset. Note that pythonic :) equivalent to unset <dtml-call "del REQUEST.other['property']"> could not be saved to server (error). It is possible to delete previously <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('property')"> in DTML ? Thanks a lot, J. Lukesh

Okey, I'll try to explain you. I have a combo box called "CboLocation" in my index_html page in the root folder of my proyect with some general information. I have a subfolder called "Add Data" where I have a page who add an entry to a database with some information. One of the fields that I need to add is the "Location" that I select in the first page, but when I try to load the "Add Data" page I got this error: Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. wiki-how to add comments to top of page

Hi, On our wiki we have users entering comments with the comment box at the bottom of the page.. The wiki adds comments on the bottom after the last post. So the users have to scroll down to see the newest post. But with a long list this is annoying. Is there a way like squishdot, to locate the new posts to the top of the page? I haven't found the way to do it. Thanks. J

VHM mapping tab disappeared

Hello All, I am having a very strange issue. I have been using Pound to redirect requests to several Zope application servers (behind a firewall) which, in turn, are talking to a ZEO server. I have been using Virtual Host Monster (VHM) to direct traffic from different domains to different Zope folders/CMF sites and it has (and is still) working beautifully. Well it's been about a couple months since I've added any new domains, using VHM mappings, so I went to VHM and the mappings tab is gone -- but VHM is still redirecting. I just can't figure out how to add more mappings... I am using Zope-2.6.1-linux2-x86 with the most notable Products being CMF 1.3.1, Plone 1.0.1 and DocFinderEverywhere 0.4.1. Graphical visualistaion of possible Zope installations

Hei, recently I posted a question about the Best possible Zope installation. I received a lot of interesting answers. Out of them I read that the best possible Zope installation was dependent on, amongst other things, system requirements and user preferences. Within these dependencies there were quite a few options and a complex picture of choices. This made me think about how it would be to have a graphical presentation of the various options and choices. As my background is ship design and naval architecture rather than computer science (I often wish it was the other way around :) ), I have come across some good graphical visualizations for speed and power ranges of ship engines. These show pretty well what engine you should choose if you need a specific power and speed. Now I wonder if it would be possible, and maybe beneficial, to have something similar for Zope? These would then incorporate things like average and peak load, storage management, security and so on. Browsing through this, in my opinion quite good, publication, will hopefully show some of the benefits of such graphical visualization. Session

I have a collection of session objects, each corresponding to an active users, each stored away in a session data container which is, itself, stored away in a transience object (aka temp_folder). For system monitoring purposes I want a privileged user to be able to look at the session data objects. The documentation (Zope Book, 2_6 Ed) is silent on this question. A first attempt at looking inside a session data container failed on security even at the highest privilege level. I'm assuming that access is only allowed from External Methods and Procducts, but thought I'd ask the group before reading the code and experimenting. -d

Zope -- where is the order of initialization documented

I think I know how things are initialized, but I thought I'd verify my understanding by reading the documentation. I couldn't find anything about initialization execution order in the documents even though I am sure I read it somewhere. It's a question of where to put monkey patches for system code... A review of the archives didn't reveal much. If I want to change the behavior of, say, User.py by monkey patching, where's the right place to store them so they get executed in the right part of the initialization sequence?
