We are finding W2K Server / Zope 2.51 / MySQL-ZODBC / Apache to be a very stable platform, and a breeze to manage via the MS Terminal Server. The only failure we have had in a year of production usage was due to exceeding the 2G file size limit. The server is under moderate load running government information websites. Online ZDG chapter on acquisition should cover: Implicit.__of__() Any class inheriting from Implicit has the __of__() method, for wrapping its instances in context and containment, for example: app = Zope.app() portal = app['myCMFSite'].__of__(app) ##portal should acquire from parent folder Note, in this case, portal is NOT the CMF site object, but a wrapper that contains the CMF site object (aq_base) and proxies calls to it, and further up the chain to the parent (aq_parent). In your case the template object needs to actually be a wrapper containing a PageTemplateFile object, and reference to parents to try when it's deemed necessary to move "upward" on the so-called namespace stack. Would anyone have a suggestion on how to do this in DTML? I have a dtml-in statment that returns a variable number of values from a database field "standard_text" from a MySQL database. What I need to do is replace the <input name="i" ..> name value with a unique variable name for each iteration. <dtml-in SQL_getMath> <input name="i" type="checkbox" value="1" ><br> </dtml-in> Optimally this would output something like: <input name="i1" type="checkbox" value="1" ><br> <input name="i2" type="checkbox" value="1" ><br> <input name="i3" type="checkbox" value="1" ><br> Where the letter "i" is cocatenated to a incremeting value to construct the form checkboxes name value. Content management system

Dear Sir I was just looking at Zope 2.6.1 on your website and I would like to know if it or any other software you provide could help me fulfil certain objectives for an upcoming job. A prospective client of mine requires a content management system. We are planning to install this on his server that houses the company's intranet and we want to set up a system whereby if a user from another country logs onto this intranet site via the worldwide web (with a pre-defined USERNAME and PASSWORD) he could, according to his access privileges access a HTML or PHP page with a menu and search function and use this to search for a list of documents by certain criteria (for example by date or subject etc) These documents will be contained within a database possibly MySQL or Oracle etc. He will then see a webpage with the list of documents with links. When he clicks on one link, he will then see the document (through the web browser) and it could be a WORD or EXCEL document and he could have the option to download this by clicking a download button. He could then alter this document in WORD etc (depending on the document itself) and then upload this to the same database on the intranet so that it replaces the old one. This would work very much like Livelink (www.livelink.com) Ideally it has to be a system that is easy to use especially by someone not used to IT. I was looking at your website and I wondered if your software could meet the above requirements. I would really appreciate it if you could get back to me as soon as possible as this client requires an answer within the next 2 days. Thank you very much Keith Trodden

testing query results for presence in an array

This is for a page where the user can update the listing for a particular project. I have a query that returns a complete list of all locations, and another query that returns the list of locations already selected for a given project. What I'd like to do is render the complete list in a multiple selection form element and have the keywords that are already entered for the project appear as selected in this list. Zope tal/dtml syntax for results from external method...

I finally got my external method call working, and returning values... using <dtml-var getRecords> it prints: {u'item': [['1', 'Fido', '5.00'], ['2', 'Spot', '10.00'], ['4', 'Sparky', '24'], ['9', 'Buffy', '10'], ['10', 'Bobby', '50']]} the code for the above is: from SOAPpy import SOAPProxy def getAllRows(): server = SOAPProxy( "http:..." ) rows = server.getAll() return rows I can (in a python script) do: for row in rows: print row[0] ... I have been trying everything that I can think of to do the same in dtml, or preferably, tal...
