get current username
by Matt Ficken 26 May '03

how can my product get the username of the user accessing it? I read on the Zope API page that there is an AuthenticatedUser class with a getUserName method that should do what I want, but I don't know how to use it. -- __________________________________________________________ Sign-up for your own FREE Personalized E-mail at Mail.com http://www.mail.com/?sr=signup

CatalogQuery newbie question
by Stephan Goeldi 26 May '03

26 May '03

This must be a newbie question: I installed ZCatalogQuery to search a Catalog for a certain word in title OR PrincipiaSearchSource. The syntax is told to be: Catalog(title=’spam’, PrincipiaSearchSource=’spam’) I don't know how the word 'spam' in this case is replaced by the text, entered in a search form. Can anybody provide me a working example of such a query in DTML?

utf-8 values in attributes: non-escaped
by listdev＠web.de 26 May '03

26 May '03

Hi there, I want to use Page Templates to create an input form with utf-8 values. Im using tal:attributes statement, but all utf-chars are escaped with HTML-entities. I found the following email on list. The last statement is probably the reason for my problem. It should be possible to use page templates with utf-chars to create text input fields with utf-8 chars. The workaround would be to use textareas or even worse javascript to fill in the values. I know it is possible to use dtml, but I thought it should be possible to use page templates as well Thanks in advance for any help Si > [...] > The "structure" keyword is only meaningful for TAL statements that can > insert unescaped text (content, replace, and on-error). Problem with has_permission
by Dieter Fischer 26 May '03

26 May '03

Hello If have a simple script (pyhton) called "test.py". I'd like to test the permission with "has_permission". The print out is the following: Anonymous User Permission on test.py not ok But this is obviously wrong, because I can execute the script. This is the code: <cut> from AccessControl import getSecurityManager obj = 'test.py' user = getSecurityManager().getUser() print user if user.has_permission('View', obj): print 'Permission on '+obj+' ok' else: print 'Permission on '+obj+' not ok' return printed </cut> What I'm doing wrong? Regards Dieter PS: System is: Zope Version (Zope 2.6.1 (binary release, python 2.1, win32-x86), python 2.1.3, win32) Python Version 2.1.3 (#35, Apr 8 2002, 17:47:50) [MSC 32 bit (Intel)] But doesn't run also on Linux

CMFWeblog character encoding
by Stephan Goeldi 26 May '03

26 May '03

Can someone please point me into the right direction about german umlauts in CMFWeblog? Plone displays umlauts correct, but CMFWeblog inside of Plone doesn't out-of-the-box. I compared the headers of Plone and the blogger_list from CMFWeblog but can't find the difference that matters. TIA Stephan

newbie: Question on Folder Workflow
by paul＠freestylenetworks.com 26 May '03

26 May '03

Question: Within 'folder_workflow', is it possible to change the initial state of 'visible'? If it is possible, how can set the initial state of a document (or any other objects) to a state of 'hide' instead of 'show' ? I am stuck on how to change the initial state of an object in the 'visible' state. In other words, I do not want any content to be accessible by URL or search unless it has been approved to be 'published'. Feedback is much appreciated. Paul.

RE: [Zope] class Missing.Missing help

One approach I have - if repr(variable) == 'Missing.Value': do something... Is there a better way of doing the above? -----Original Message----- From: Samir Mishra [mailto:SamirMishra@cbuae.gov.ae] Sent: Monday, May 26, 2003 10:45 To: 'zope(a)zope.org' Subject: [Zope] class Missing.Missing help Hello All, I have a ZSQL method executing a simple 'select' statement against a MS SQL Server. Some of the rows/columns have missing values. On looking at the variable 'type', I get - <extension class Missing.Missing at 013130E0> How do I test if the return value is a NULL value? e.g., as in if variable is None: do something... If I assign this value to a variable in a dictionary, I get - {'variable':Missing.Value} Help much appreciated. Thx.
