Plone problem
by Adriana Chirita 27 May '03

Hello I have a little problem: the events don't appear in the calendar any more... I haven't modified files containing event or calendar in their names, neither the portal_calendar. Does someone have an idea?

Re: index_html always seems to exist

> I did. > http://www.zope.org/Documentation/Books/ZopeBook/2_6Edition/Acquisition.stx > mentions nothing about index_html... Actually the thing is that if index_html isn't in the current folder, then zope will search it in the parent folder till it finds something (that's Acquisition). Usually all zopes have this file in the root folder by default, so zope will allways find something. As Dylan said, search "objectIds" in the help of your zope. It returns a list of the files in the current folder, so you could do something like: file='index_html' if not file in context.objectIds(): context.invokeFactory('Member Profile', id=file, title=file) Regards, Josef

simple python script question
by Henny van der Linde 27 May '03

27 May '03

Hi, I have this in a python script to copy/clone a folder. obj=container.template_folders.template_1 pag=context.manage_clone(obj,id) pag.manage_changeProperties(title=title) This works fine but here template_1 is hardcoded. How do I turn the last segment into a variable so I can call this script with a specific folder to clone? thanks, Henny van der Linde

submitting multi-checkbox
by Norman Lorrain 26 May '03

26 May '03

I'm trying to submit multi-checkbox (Formulator widget) values to a database using ZSQL. My database schema defines the fields as boolean; Formulator converts the values to a list of checked items, e.g. ['checked_item_one', 'checked_item_two']. Only checked items are added to the list. How can I map the formulator output to proper SQL? (a list of booleans) I have a couple of ideas, but I'm new to Zope and not sure what would be best, or even possible. Thanks Norman Lorrain

No that would be a hotfix on all instances of the DTMLFile class. Not what I was after. BTW, I've found my solution, but I guess I'll really need to inspect the code to sort out the security stuff. Will come back to the list for that probably. Peter

Hello I didn't find the equivalent commands in python (script) for this two dmtl commands: <dtml-try> ... <dtml-except DatabaseError> <dtml-if "error_type == 'IntegrityError'"> ... </dtml-if> <dtml-else> ... </dtml-try> --- try: ... except DatabaseError: if error_type == 'IntegrityError': ... else: ... doesn't work. Have I to import something to access the variables, or what am I missing? Thanks Dieter

Zope refuses to start with relative EVENT_LOG_FILE
by Lennart Regebro 26 May '03

26 May '03

I couldn't find anything about this in the collector, so maybe it's a bug? I just tried to install Zope 2.6.1, but I thought that this time I would be nice and neat and actually put up an event.log (I usually just run my development Zopes to stdout). However, the Zope refused to start. No error messages anywhere, it just logged that it started the threads and then silently died. I traced this back to setting EVENT_LOG_FILE="var/event.log" Setting it to "$cwd/var/event.log" fixed the problem. Now, that's OK in itself, but an error message would have been nice. ;) Bug, or?

bobotime
by Einar Næss Jensen 26 May '03

I have an index_html (dtmlMethod) which prints the date it was last modified: <dtml-var expr="REQUEST['PUBLISHED'].bobobase_modification_time().strftime('%m/%d/%Y, %H:%M')"> This would work fine if I access the full url of the object: http://www.bobosite.org/index_html But: if i just type http://www.bobosite.org/ It will render the date of the root folders last modification date. Why don't they show the same date? How can I make them do that? (I understand that / and /index_html are not the same object and should therefor not show the same date, but it still puzzels me because I thought maybe the index_html would automatically be loaded) Best regards Einar Næss Jensen Einar -- Einar Næss Jensen Avdelingsingeniør EDB-HF 735 90750

class Missing.Missing help
by Samir Mishra 26 May '03

26 May '03

Hello All, I have a ZSQL method executing a simple 'select' statement against a MS SQL Server. Some of the rows/columns have missing values. On looking at the variable 'type', I get - <extension class Missing.Missing at 013130E0> How do I test if the return value is a NULL value? e.g., as in if variable is None: do something... If I assign this value to a variable in a dictionary, I get - {'variable':Missing.Value} Help much appreciated. Thx. Regards, Samir

Natting to public IP not working
by Praveen Kumar 26 May '03

26 May '03

Dear List, I'm accessing Zope server with local IP where it is working fine. When natting my local IP to Public IP it is not navigating (as web pages) but it is working fine if you go from zope management folder. eg: I'm accessing Zope server (Management) at 192.168.1.179:8080. where I have /demo/LA folder. I want to access this folder directly as a web page. It is working fine by accessing http://192.168.1.179:8080/demo/LA but after natting this IP address with the public IP say, http://202.65.65.1:8080/demo/LA it is not working but it is accessible through http://202.65.65.1:8080/.
