formulator form.header() problem
by Mark Nenadov 21 May '03

21 May '03

Hello all, I'm making a form with the latest version of Formulator. When I call form.header() it gives me a "mutilated" form header like so: <form enctype="multipart/form-data" method="POST" name="add_vehicle_form" action="addVehicleMethod enctype="multipart/form-data">" > It doesn't put the last quote after my action and it adds the enctype line again. This obviously causes problems. I've confirmed that I didn't make any mistakes in the form settings I'm using Zope 2.6.1 and Formulator 1.4.0. I'd appreciate any feedback. ~Mark

Zcatalog & KeywordIndex
by John Toews 21 May '03

21 May '03

I'm having some difficulties using my Zcatalog & my KeywordIndex within that catalog. I have a subdirectory of different files, each with a property called "repo_keywords". I created a KeywordIndex called "repo_keywords". When I search using this, I must enter the exact text within the repo_keywords property (instead of just one word or a phrase). Also, when I add a new file, I have to re-find everything in my Zcatalog, update catalog doesn't seem to work? (Win32, Zope 2.6.1, Python 2.1.3) Thanks, John Toews

How to Add a File Dynamically??
by Zope＠Stylus 21 May '03

21 May '03

Hi I am working on Zope-2.5.1 installed on Mandrake Linux 9.0. I am working currently on a small project that functions similar to the CMF but not completely covering all its features. I am basically trying to add a folder into the Zope Directory Structure and then trying to upload files into the newly added folder through my web interface (Not ZMI) While adding a new folder I would like to add 3 files by default into the folder (like when i add a folder object through ZMI) 1) index_html - (Page Template) 2) tree.py - (Python Script) 3) getPath.zsql - (ZSQL Method) My Backend is Postgresql 7.2.2. For adding Folders and Files intot the Zope Directory I am using External Methods which are functioning perfectly fine. But the main issue is that when I add a folder I want that three objects are added into the folder as well by default. a Python Script a Page Tenplate a ZSQL Method These three Objects should contain the code which is decided by me and is a constant in all folders like the code in index_html for all folders. The Zope folder Object accomplishes this ... when we add a folder if I select to add a User Interface .. a default page template is added called index_html. I also would like to do something exactly similar. Please help me out ... I m stuck with this for quite a few days now. Thanks for reading through the whole letter .. n thanks in advance for all Help. Re: [Zope] Re: How to Add a File Dynamically??--manage_clone ERROR
by Zope＠Stylus 21 May '03

Hi Seb Thanks for the guidance. I am actually cloning Page Templates and Python Scripts to a newly added folder and the folder gets added using the manage_addFolder method. When i try to clone a Python Script and a Page Template I get the Error. I have set anaonymous User permission for Both the External Methods and the Python Scripts calling the External Methods( although I actually cannot do this setting on the fly as I adding the Python Scripts also Dynamically ) INspite of my setting thew Security Permission on the External Methods and Python Script to Anonymous and also setting the Proxy Roles to anonymous I am still being asked to Login to Zope . Please help me out. Suggestion on as to how I can acheive this functionality by some other means would also be most helpful ,i.e, Adding a Folder on the Fly (which I am being able to do) and cloning a Python Script and a Page Template into the newly added folder on the fly(which I am not able to do) ..Both these actions happen simulatneously and it has to happen without Logging into the ZMI. Please help. Click the "Proxy" tab. Select the role : you want to assign (probably "Manager") and then click "Save Changes". Your : script will now run as if it's being run by the administrator, but you : won't have to be logged in. : : Needless to say, be very careful about what your script does, because if it : does things like delete objects, when anybody will be able to delete them. : : Regards, : : - seb : : -- : Seb Potter : Lead Developer : Getfrank Limited : : --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. LDAPUserFolder and local roles throught LDAPUserSatellite
by Thierry FLORAC 21 May '03

21 May '03

Hi, I use LDAPUserFolder on my Zope (2.6.1) site. I have a context where I give local roles to users, and I have to know if a local role is given to a user (without inheritance, so I just use the 'get_local_roles_for_userid' function). OK for this ! My problem is that I also want to be able to use LDAPUserSatellite to grant a local role to a group of LDAP users. Granting the role is OK in terms of Zope permissions, but is there any way to know if a user has a local role on an object, given throught this mapping (and only throught this mapping) ?? Thanks, Thierry -- Linux every day, keeps Dr Watson away... http://gpc.sourceforge.net -- http://www.ulthar.net

RE: [Zope] Python-ldap

Unfortunately, there is no python-ldap / openldap win32 binary for the latest LDAPUserFolder. You have to use an older version of the LDAPUserfolder together with the correct win32 binaries. There is an howto on zope.org. If anybody has a compiled version of openldap / python-ldap I would be happy to get my hands on it ... : Odesílatel: Andy McKay <andy(a)agmweb.ca> : If people are able to get something for free, or pay for your version : then they have to give them more. Value add, why do people pay for : Redhat when they could download it for free? Great. My chief is for 2 days away, so I have some time to think about. (in between I must continue on developing of linux thin client). : Odesílatel: Oliver Marx <Oliver(a)tekk.dk> : Ur boss should just charge the clients a higher rate per hour. Very : simple. You do a good job with Zope. It is not the hours you spend but : the solution you provide - that counts. So actually if your boss was : just a little smarter, you could earn him more money than the M$ guy... Higher rate is unaccepteble for clients, when it will see 5x more than with M$ solutions. But I will try to push my chief to selling solutions from me, not service hours. Chief sells mainly service hours (he have simple calculator: much time = much money). Thanks to all, J. Lukesh

ownership fun and games.

So we had a couple of people who'd been working on zope here leave, and their user objects got deleted. Stuff starts breaking _everywhere_, because the permissions of a zope object are the intersection of the permissions of the owner and the permissions of the user -- no owner means an intersection with the null set. Oops. The following external method and python script will help you if something similar ever happens to you. This Python Script will find objects owned (explicitly) by non-existent users and set the ownership to the person running the script. ---------------8<------------------------8<------------------- # Change these two. The first is where to start looking, the second is the # acl_users folder to check. top = container.ekorp users = container.acl_users.getUserNames() u={} for i in users: u[i] = 1 isUser = u.has_key todo = [top] while 1: if not todo: break next, todo = todo[0], todo[1:] for id, obj in next.objectItems(): try: owner = obj.owner_info() except: continue if owner['explicit']: user = owner['id'] if not isUser(user): print "/".join(obj.getPhysicalPath()), owner['explicit'], user container.fixownership(obj) if hasattr(obj, 'objectItems') and obj.objectItems(): todo.append(obj) return printed ---------------8<------------------------8<------------------- There's also an external method needed - install it as "fixownership" in the same folder as the object pythonscript. (aside: This is only needed because of the idiotic checks on HTTP referrer in AccessControl/Owned.py Owned.manage_takeOwnership(). Fine, you want more security. Almost nothing else in Zope does this sort of checking - why this one method?? As it is, the interface may as well not be there - it's unusable programmatically.) ---------------8<------------------------8<------------------- def fixownership(object): from AccessControl import getSecurityManager user=getSecurityManager().getUser() object.changeOwnership(user) ---------------8<------------------------8<------------------- Hopefully this will be of use to someone, somewhere.
