New mailman product/scripts

I have just added a new Mailman integration product to the Zope site. It is slightly different architecturally from other Mailman integration products in that only a single instance is needed in order to manage all lists. The product is in its infancy, but is being used in production at my company. In the near future I will be adding full list configurability (all the options: General, Privacy, etc) to the product. The <dtml...> tag just sets up the environment for accessing objects, and there is no need to try to stick another <dtml> tag inside one (even if it were allowed). All you need is the obvious - <dtml-if expr="REQUEST.has_key('nol') and nol==id"> Furthermore, Python uses short-circuit evaluation, so the expression will not fail if there is no key for nol - very helpful. ZOPE 2.6.2 Beta 1 Released Zope 2.6.2b1 represents a development step in the next Zope release formed with a large number of community contributions. You may download Zope 2.6.2b1 from Zope.org: http://www.zope.org/Products/Zope/2.6.2b1/ Users of the Zope source release should note that Python 2.1.3 is now the required platform. Python 2.1.3 includes a fix to an issue that could cause crashes in Zope. Users who upgrade from source MUST RUN a make clean and make command to build the proper binaries correctly; distutils will skip compilation of the library modules needed for Zope and will cause errors if they are not up to date. I have passed data from one form to another using REQUEST. I collect the data from one form, with a python script as the action. The script "does stuff", and in my case, puts a list together, which I then pass to a dtml method for display. >From the script I do: context.REQUEST.set('work',work_orders_dict.keys()) return context.trace_back(context, context.REQUEST) Where trace_back is my dtml method. You can then directly access your list from the dtml_method: <dtml-in work> <dtml-var sequence-item> </dtml-in> or something similar. In your case you may be able to collect data in form 1, send it to a python script, from the script pass your object into request and call form2. Then have form 2 collect more info, send that to a script, put both objects into request, and finally have both objects available for form 3. Solaris, Multiple Processors and ZEO?

Has anyone attempted to improve Zope performance on multi-processor Solaris by implementing ZEO on a single machine in order to get a division of labor between processors? First of all, even using sleep(), the function that started the thread will not return until the thread finishes. If it starts, say, five threads, those five threads will go off and do their work but the caller will not return until all five threads do. Second, you cannot stop a thread before it wants to quit. So if you want it to quit, you have to arange for it to check some kind of a signal somewhere to tell it to do so. But if the thread is waiting on a slow socket, it cannot do any such checking because sockets are synchronous (although there is an asynchronous socket library out there, I believe that Zope does not use it - hope someone can correct me on that). RE:Newbie: creating objects programmatically

Thanks to Dmitry and Maik, it works fine. So now I need to set the new ZTP contents to those of a model ZPT. Following Dmitry's advice, I read the ZPT source and figured I could do the following: instance.manage_addProduct['PageTemplates'].manage_addPageTemplate('index_html') instance['index_html'].write(instance.memberIndex.document_src(self)) but no, I get: Error Type: Unauthorized Error Value: You are not allowed to access document_src in this context I am logged in as 'manager'. I have tried: instance['index_html'].write(str(instance.memberIndex)) where memberIndex is a regular file and this works fine, but I want to use a model ZPT. Guidance needed, please! Richard (every step an adventure!)
