Zope and mxDateTime

Hi, Can anyone tell me the best way to use mxDateTime with Zope in a windows enviroment? I can never seem to get Zope to find the mx modules. TaintedString, how is it determined, where ?

Hello, I am playing with the html_quote function, trying to get it to quote ALL html entities, not just the basic ones cgi.escape() handles. I've got that part working well enough, though I had to modify Zope code ... Is it possible to monkey patch (or in any other way modify) from a product a function (and not a class) ? The problem I discovered is that only "tainted strings" are passed to html_quote. BUT what Zope determines to be "tainted" isn't "wide" enough for my needs. In my case, strings with latin-1 accents are not deemed "tainted", which means they don't get quoted by the code I have in place (Which would replace "é" with "é"). Could anybody point me in the right direction? Where do I find the code that determines whether a <dtml-var> used variable (such as Title) is deemed tainted? I could just write a new PythonScript or something like that to do it ... But since the architecture is allready in place to do it, I'd rather just modify that. Also, the documentation for html_quote really suggests this shuld be the behavior. Either the behavior of the function, or the docs, should be ammended to be clearer. Thanks! Size won't be an issue with DirectoryStorage, but number of objects is a more important factor... If that 200GB is comprised of lots of small objects, there are still penalties for storing filesystem metatdata for many, many files (i.e. tens of millions) - this is why it is recommended to use ReiserFS with DirectoryStorage. You can access any database from Zope - if you want to store information in tables. You can access several different external relational databases from one zope. But the Zope Object Database (ZODB) is actually one the great features of Zope - you can just store objects without needing to convert from objects to rows. Most commonly people use the ZODB for storing templates, logic, etc and then connect to an external RDBMS to work with existing or tabular data. Zope makes this easy. If you really really want to use an RDBMS to store the actual ZODB, you can search for AdaptableStorage or DirectoryStorage, but that's quite advanced stuff and you'd need a good reason to do it. What are you actually trying to do? F.

I personally had some problems when trying to do this. For example if you have ZClasses that inherit from ObjectManager. I adviced you to make a backup of your Data.fs first and then try to overwrite the Data.fs of the new zope. HI all I am working on mandrake Linux 8.2,Zope-2.5.1 I am trying to use a dtml-sendmail tag to send a mail .But everytime I try I keep geting the same error.Please help me out. ZCatalog weirdness...

Hey folks. I have a python script that looks like this: foo = context.portal_catalog.searchResults(id='foo') for res in foo: print res.id print res.title return printed The output from this script is: portal_catalog Indexes all content in the site Anybody know why I'd be getting back the portal_catalog object itself and not my document with the id of 'foo'? Zope sizing and Scalability

I am looking for some information regarding sizing of the Zope database its scalability, how big it can grow without performance issues beginning to impact on it etc. I have read the documentation in the manual regarding how to set up a number of servers but it does not give any indication as to how big a zope installation can be. I am after qualified numbers if anyone has any. Hope someone can help. Andrew

structured-text unordered list is rendered wrong in zpt

I am rendering some structured text in a page template. The text looks like this: test_text: ####################################### Some paragraph - This is a list item - This is a second list item - This is a third list item A closing paragraph ####################################### And it generates the following html. ####################################### Some paragraph <ul> <li>This is a list item</li> <li>This is a second list item</li> <li>This is a third list item</li> </ul> A closing paragraph ####################################### The problem is the superfluous element around every list item. It makes the list item appear on another line than the bullet :-s Does anybody know the problem is here?
