Expand Macros
by McDonnell, Larry 29 Mar '03

29 Mar '03

Hi, I have been looking at the "Examples" area and I found something in the FileLibrary folder that allows the uploading of files. I got that part to work in my document. What I cannot get working is the ability to display the files in the "Files" folder. I get an error message: Macro expansion failed exceptions.AttributeError: macros What do I need to turn on? It works in the example area. Also, I think this error prevent me from seeing the files stored in the "Files" folder. Thanks. How to access ZODB from python code
by Gabriel Genellina 29 Mar '03

29 Mar '03

Hi I want to get access to some Zope objects stored in ZODB, from *outside* of any other Zope object (so I dont have anything to call getPhysicalRoot() or restrictedTraverse() on) but from *inside* python code running in the Zope process. This doesnt work: from Zope import Zope app = Zope.app() app.restrictedTraverse(...) The Zope server freezes, I guess there is a deadlock there. Currently, I'm using a single instance of a bogus product (a singleton) stored at the root of the Zope hierarchy, just to get access to the ZODB. I dont like it being a product nor being stored in the Zope database, but I cant access the Zope DB otherwise. How could I do that? Gabriel Genellina Softlab SRL

by Brian Lloyd 28 Mar '03

28 Mar '03

Hi all - (I'm copying this to the zope list since some who have asked for more information have made the point that they don't watch the zope-announce list.) We've received a lot of feedback from the community over time about the desire for more advanced Zope training options. We are happy to now be able to offer Zope TurboIntranet training, which combines a professional product (with source code) with advanced training that covers Zope, the CMF architecture and the intranet product itself. For those that may be interested, a ZTI class is coming up April 28 - May 1. More info is available at: http://www.zope.com/ZTICommunityAnnounce Please send questions or requests for more info to training(a)zope.com rather than me directly. Flames can go to me directly :^) Brian Lloyd brian(a)zope.com V.P. Engineering 540.361.1716 Zope Corporation http://www.zope.com

Publishing of plain HTML files
by Robert Jean 28 Mar '03

Hello, I would like to export a site from Zope to a Web server where Zope is not installed. In this model, Zope is used for the creation, management and publishing of the content, while the delivery is performed by IIS or Apache. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? For one of our clients we are working on a Zope-based solution for high speed/high volume manufacturing environment. It would be interesting to hear about similar projects, approaches, success stories, etc. Regards, Igor

RE: [Zope] Zope backup
by sean.upton＠uniontrib.com 28 Mar '03

Though your copy may end up needing repair after the fact; backup in this sense is not transactional. DirectoryStorage has the best answer for this at the moment (better than FileStorage), in that it supports snapshots, has a built-in backup tool, and has a secure network-replication tool as well. Nope. It's perfectly safe to copy the Data.fs of a running server. --jcc _______________________________________________ Zope maillist - Zope(a)zope.org http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope ** No cross posts or HTML encoding! ** (Related lists - http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-announce http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-dev )

accessing a zope site with nautilus can show you the whole structure: folders, methods and documents. On some sites you see the source of index_html. I didn't figure out, what makes the difference.
