Hi, please post your replies in the list. >Hi, >Where can I get the latest python-ldap module? I have downloaded the >present files from http://www.zope.org/Members/barryp/win32_ldap. You could perhaps download the source and install it in your python path (I don't know if this works because I use linux)

Yes, I have installed the same. By default the installation directory 'ldap' sits in C:\Python22\Lib\site-packages. Do I need to copy this somewhere? Hi, I want to use LDAP user folder in my zope(2.5.1) installation. I have dowloaded the same and put that in the zope's products folder, but I am not seeing it in the types' drop down when I access zope's management interface. It is said in the installation document that ldapmodule.so is required to use LDAP user folder, but I dont find any. Where can I get the same and where should I put that in order to get it working? Please help. Its a very urgent requirement. Thank you. Regards, Paul.

It is protected by a permission. And as with all permissions, you must either grant them to the users that need them or you have a special script with a proxie role. I do not argue whether the set of methods protected by the one protecting protecting "owner_info" is senseful. It heavily depends on the application domain, in general. And it is not worth to argue about it, as you always can use the proxie role approach. Dieter

by AM 19 Mar '03

I followed the instructions here : http://www.zope.org/Members/mjablonski/howtoPDF to set up on the fly html2pdf conversion. the question I have is that do I have to have filenames ending in .html for it to work. To view the error generated please see: http://nbs.neuro-bs.com/index_html/html2pdf on IE On netscape/mozilla it pops up a box that says that the file doesnt start with %pdf Any ideas as to what I can do about that?? ZServer and MySQL: wierd behavior
by AM 19 Mar '03

19 Mar '03

I found a strange problem on my install. I run Zope 2.6.1 (Zserver) behind Apache 2.0 on a dual processor RedHat 7.3 box and have a MySQL 4.0.1 db (uses InnoDB tables) that keeps my user data. I have custom user folder based heavily on the mysqluserfolder product that authenticates users off the db. I also have a sign-up process that is a multiform page and uses transactions to insert data into the db (separate from the user folder, the userfolder interfaces for the same are just dummy functions). What I saw was that if for some reason mysql deadlocked over multiple transaction writing to the same table (ie multiple users signing up at the same time on the site) and dropped some of the transactions, Zope just waited around forever and eventually became unresponsive. Apache then returns a 502 - Server overload/busy. Once I dropped the transaction commands (begin/commit) everything worked smoothly. What I would like to know is that if MySQL recovered gracefully why was Zope waiting around for the dropped transactions to return something.? formatting dates
by Michael Guerrero 19 Mar '03

19 Mar '03

Hello, I am having problems formatting a date that I select from my oracle database. The field is an oracle DATE field. I want to display it as MM/DD/YY. I have tried: <dtml-in sql_get_invc_date> <dtml-var invc_date fmt="%m/%d/%y"> </dtml-in> The formatting works fine when I use ZopeTime but not when I use a dtml-var. I appreciate your help. Thanks.
