Problem with permission
by Dieter Fischer 11 Jan '03

Hello I've got a permission problem in Zope. I don't know if it is a Zope or an exUserFolder issue, so I'm posting to both lists. The point is, that I've a "Z SQL Method", and the user has the role which is allowed to do anything with this object. But I can only execute it when I give "Use Database Methods" to "Anonymous", what I realy don't like to do. If I don't give the permission to "Anonymous", the login box always appears. My software is: Zope Version (Zope-2.6.1b1, python 2.1.3, linux2) Python Version 2.1.3 (#1, Apr 15 2002, 12:29:54) [GCC egcs-2.91.66 19990314/Linux (egcs-1.1.2 release)] exUserFolder-0-10-10 --- Mit freundlichen Grüssen - Meilleures salutations - Kind regards - Cordiali saluti Dieter Fischer Grid IT GmbH Im Niederholzboden 24 CH-4125 Riehen Tel: +41 61 601 29 62 mailto:dieter.fischer@grid-it.ch http://:www.grid-it.ch

Please stay on the list! Charlie Clark wrote at 2003-1-10 22:11 +0100: > Frohes Neues erstmal! Same for you! > I did but it didn't seem to work properly then either. Things are a bit > complicated by the fact that I'm using XUF to protect the folder where > users set up the roles but actually want to centralise my SQL and admin > (incl. Xron) stuff. When the centralized SQL is not inside the folder, you will need proxy roles, as the users are "Anonymous" outside the folder the "acl_users" of which defines the users. > To do it the way you suggest will mean creating a whole bunch of scripts, > as the pages involved have several SQL calls No, a single script can do with *any* SQL method. Give it the same signature as Z SQL Methods (beside an additional parameter which defines the Z SQL Method) and call the Z SQL Method with "apply". Dieter

Eat pizza and lose weight?
by ericktapia＠msn.com 11 Jan '03

Hi ! If you're like me, you've tried EVERYTHING to lose weight. I know how you feel - the special diets, miracle pills, and fancy exercise equipment never helped me lose a pound either. It seemed like the harder I tried, the bigger I got, until I heard about a product called Power Diet Plus. You're probably thinking to yourself, "Oh geez, not another miracle diet pill!" Like you, I was skeptical at first, but my sister swore it helped her lose 23 pounds in just two weeks, so I told her I'd give it a shot. I mean, there was nothing to lose except a lot of weight! Let me tell you, it was the best decision I've ever made. Period. Six months later, as I'm writing this message to you, I've gone from 355 pounds to 210 pounds, and I haven't changed my exercise routine or diet at all. Yes, I still eat pizza, and lots of it! I was so happy with the results that I contacted the manufacturer and got permission to resell it - at a BIG discount. I want to help other people lose weight like I did, because it does so much for your self-esteem, not to mention your health. I give you my personal pledge that Power Diet Plus absolutely WILL WORK FOR YOU. If it doesn't, you can return it any time for a full refund. If you are frustrated with trying other products, not having any success, and just not getting the results you were promised, then I recommend the only product that worked for me - POWER DIET PLUS. You're probably asking yourself, "Ok, so how does this stuff actually work?" Power Diet Plus contains Lipotropic fat burners which are scientifically proven to increase metabolism and cause rapid weight loss. No "hocus pocus" in these pills - just RESULTS, RESULTS, RESULTS!! Here is the bottom line ... I can help you lose 10-15 pounds per week naturally, without exercising and without having to eat rice cakes all day. Just try it for one month - there's nothing to lose, and everything to gain. You will lose weight fast - GUARANTEED. That is my pledge to you. Zope MySQL db adapter
by Christopher N. Deckard 11 Jan '03

Hello, I just wanted to make sure I was using the right MySQL adapter for Zope. I'm looking at using ZMySQLDA version 2.0.8. My concern is that the last time this was updated was 2001/09/06. Is this Product still being maintained or is there a new one that I should be using? Info about the product is here: http://www.zope.org/Members/adustman/Products/ZMySQLDA Thanks, -Chris

Hi I just installed the unicode patch for 2.5.1. [http://www.zope.org/Members/efge/i18n/Unicode-2.5.1] But I am no longer able to enter norwegian characters (æøå) in properties. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so - has anyone fixed it? Jorg Rødsjø -- Jorg E. Rødsjø http://elsewhere.dhs.org/gallery/god.html elsewhere.dhs.org

Hi Guys, I am going to look deeper into sessions, so hold off on this for a while. I have been using version 2.5 of the zope book, and it seems that 2.6's coverage of sessions is improved. Thanks for your time, I appreciate it. Matt -----Original Message----- From: Redding, Matthew Sent: Saturday, 11 January 2003 2:34 PM To: zope(a)zope.org Subject: [Zope] variable references I'd really appreciate it if one of the Zope gurus out there could solve this little question. It is really a simplification of the problem I am encountering. I have three DTML documents, index, two, and three What do I have to do to allow three to see the "gest"? They are all in a folder called persistence under the root directory of zope. three, when it is reached gives a key error. index................................. <dtml-var standard_html_header> <h2><dtml-var title_or_id></h2> <p> <form action="two" method="GET" target="_self" id="SPU CalculatorID" title="SPU Entry"> <b>Number </b> <input type="TEXT" NAME="gest:float" SIZE="5" maxlength="6" value="100"> <div align="RIGHT"> <input type="submit" value="Submit Data"> </div> </form> This is <dtml-var id> </p> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> two....................................................... <dtml-var standard_html_header> <h2><dtml-var title_or_id></h2> <p> This is the <dtml-var id> Document. <dtml-var gest> </p> <div align="center"> <A HREF="three">Continue</A> </div> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> three....................................................... <dtml-var standard_html_header> <h2><dtml-var title_or_id></h2> <p> This is <dtml-var id> <dtml-var gest> </p> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> I would really appreciate your help with this. I have been poring over the zope book, and now wonder if there is something wrong with my installation of zope. Capture rendered HTML
by chad nantais 11 Jan '03

I need to output the pages generated from a product catalog that is in my Zope database. For each product (which is a zope folderish object) i want a folder, an html page (from the object's properties), and the images in the product to be created as files so I can download them with FTP and copy them to a CD. Any idea how to do this? I could do it now, but the view.html view that displays the product downloads as the page template when i use ftp. I want it to download as the rendered version of the page. Thanks. Chad tribewave(a)hotmail.com _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your e-mail with MSN 8.
