Variables: accessing them across several pages

Hi Zope Gurus, I have been converting an environmental model to run as a series of forms on the web. Zope and python seem so far like the correct tool to be using. Something is really bamboozling me. I see that DTML variables can be accessed from DTML document to document. I see that there are such things as session variables. I have read about REQUEST and RESPONSE in the passing of parameters to called python scripts and external methods....I have this one working. But I cannot get my brain around the following: 1. I output a form to the web (HTML in this case; lets call it "form1"). It collects several values, that are submitted to an external python method. 2. External python method "expy1", does some calculations, returns a table of values to the web, with a link to a subsequent form, "Form2". 3. Submission of "Form2" passes several values to a python script "internalpy1". 4. ***Now this is the problem....how can "internalpy1" access the values collected in "form1"??? If I use DTML for "form1" instead of html, can I make variables persist easier? It seems that to publish any page to the web from a python script, is to halt the python script, since it must use it's return to do this...is this correct? I would **really** appreciate your help with this problem, though it is a total newbie issue, I know. It has chewed up about four frustrating evenings so far. Thanks for any advice you can offer. ExternalEditor and DreamWeaver MX

Hi, is anyone successfully using DreamWeaver MX on Win with ExternalEditor? I guess this is a detach problem like described in the Readme, but I cannot find a way to tell DreamWeaver not to detach. At the moment I can successfully edit one document this way when DW is lounched by ExternalEditor. After that or if DW is already running - no way! Thanks for any help Jochen

memory leaks in Zope application

Hi, I'm running a Zope-application (2.5.1, Python 2.1.3) on a dual processor (1 GB mem) Redhat 7.3 machine. User-authentication is done by the exUserFolder-product (on Postgresql 7.2.1). An apache-server runs in front of the Zope server. RAM Cache Managers are used, number_of_threads in z2.py is set to 20. Performance is excellent, but every 2-3 days Zope crashes. Reason: Zope start with allocating 140 MB of RAM and steadily (over 2-3 days) increases memory usage to 1 GB. At this point it crashes. Problem installing Plone on Debian

Hi, I've got some problems when installling zope-cmfplone and plone: megalosaurus:~# apt-get install zope-cmfplone plone Reading Package Lists... Done Building Dependency Tree... Done The following NEW packages will be installed: plone zope-cmfplone 0 packages upgraded, 2 newly installed, 0 to remove and 179 not upgraded. Need to get 0B/472kB of archives. After unpacking 1961kB will be used. Preconfiguring packages ... Selecting previously deselected package zope-cmfplone. (Reading database ... 23014 files and directories currently installed.) Unpacking zope-cmfplone (from .../zope-cmfplone_1.0rc1-3_all.deb) ... Selecting previously deselected package plone. Unpacking plone (from .../plone_1.0rc1-3_all.deb) ... Setting up zope-cmfplone (1.0rc1-3) ... configure -- Byte-compiling python files...done. restarting zope, as you requested Restarting Zope...Ack. MigrationTool could not be found done. Setting up plone (1.0rc1-3) ... Here, I get this MigrationTool not found error, and also: My Plone products won't appear in my product add list. I've got everything from CMF what I need, as far as I know... When I look in the /usr/lib/zope/lib/python/Products dir I see it's all there. The CMF products however, do appear in the Add list.
