Why not just have the script ask for their location from a dropdown list (let's assume it's US State, for example...), and have it submit to an External Method. I know that Python and Apache work very well for the XML conversion and XSLT. My main question is how would I design a form in Zope that would deliver the text file to that specific file listed above. Any suggestions would be helpful. Hi, I was having this error message and found that it's caused by a 2Gb-storage-limit that zope has. I had to delete some data to reduce the size of my ZopeDB. Now it works. I have the following questions regarding this problem: 1) Does the current zope stable version (2.6.0) have the same problem? 2) Is there any patch to solve it in Zope 2.5.1 and later? 3) If the answer to the first question is "yes", what is the easiest alternative to store this data externally: LocalFS or relational databases? Are there other alternatives? Which one does zope.org use? Is it easy to convine this alternatives with the portal_catalog that it's included with CMF. ZPT RestrictedTraverse Bug??! ref: priveleges problem???

I have been setting my new Zope site to allow anonymous visitors to burrow down till they hit a restricted area, namely the 30mm CD Resources page. Right above that is the 30mm-Floorplans folder. Anonymous users are being required by zope to login at the 30mm-Floorplans folder even though I didn't specifically setup the 30mm-Floorplans folder as a controlled area. Canceling the login request results in this Zope error for anonymous users only! /<li> Module Products.PageTemplates.Expressions, line 346, in restrictedTraverse<br /> __traceback_info__: {'path': ['title'], 'TraversalRequestNameStack': []}</li> </ul>Unauthorized: You are not allowed to access title in this context </p> -->/ Everyone else can gain access to the 30mm-Floorplans Folder so long as they login. After spending some time making sure the folder and file permissions were good from the Zope root folder on down to the 30mm-Floorplan folder, I finally got the bright idea to check Google using the keywords in the error message and found my problem straight away... The "undo" posibility and the size of data.fs

Hei we have with zope developed a multiple choice test which employees can access over the internet. This works fine. However, each time an employee submits an answer, the size of the file data.fs increases much more than we would expect(3kB). The answer is stored on the emlpoyee object. We now do wonder if zope's "undo" possibility is an explanation to this large increase in data.fs; this since zope holds the states inbetween the transactions (four transactions for each question).If it is this undo possibility that causes the large increase in data.fs, we would like to know if it is possible to get around this "undo" tracking af zope. If it is not, we would also very much like to know how we could find out what other reason there is to the large increase in data.fs. I have exported the employee object to xml to see what is there stored, but all there looks normal. Best wishes and kind regards from Børge Kjeldstad

Installation of TextIndexNG 1.07 on Sun Solaris fails

Hi, I have: Zope Version (Zope 2.5.1 (binary release, python 2.1, solaris-2.6-sparc), python 2.1.3, sunos5) Python Version 2.1.3 (#1, Apr 15 2002, 12:32:48) [GCC 2.8.1] System Platform sunos5 and installed TextIndexNG 1.07 in the lib/python/Products, did a python setup.py install restartet Zope and got a broken TextIndexNG. The traceback in the refresh tab says: An exception occurred during the last refresh. A Zope transglobal Christmas experience

Hi All Over the past few weeks a Silva/Zope Christmas website has been built around the clock and around the globe with author Ian Keldoulis in New York, Kit Blake of Infrae in Rotterdam, and myself the Zope Template Designer in Melbourne. Due to time differences work was done while we each slept on our respective continents. It meant waking up to find an inbox with questions answered or new things added to the site. Building this site was great fun. Thanks to ZPT's a Silva website can have any look required. It's beneath the hood where Silva works its magic. WHAT IS SILVA? Can I? > I am not at all sure what you want to do. When the javascript script accesses that value, it is operating in the browser. Python will be in the server. Why should it access the page at all? If there is data to be sent to Python, just send it the data. The page, in fact, will not actually exist for Python to "access". Only after your python scripts are done will the page be fully assembled. If you mean that you want to write some python code that you feed an html page to, that is not how you would normally use Zope. If you want Python to access a web page and retrieve some data from it while it is processing a REQUEST, that is best done using an external method. There are a variety of ways to process a web page, but it is not always easy, given the amazing range of invalid html code that exists out there. Sometimes it is easiest to use regular expressions, and sometimes it is easiest to use the sgmlop parser (you have to write a handler, but that is not too hard depending on what you need to do). Or you can turn the html page into xml using HTML Tidy, then use xml processing on the page. If you do this and use the PyXML beta (or maybe it is still alpha) package, you can get access to the W3C DOM API, and access the page element content that way. Cheers, Tom P
