manage_changeProperties and getitem
by Marie Robichon 19 Nov '02

19 Nov '02

Hi everyone, I have a form which calls up a method and fills in the form fields with the properties, in order for modification. The field jref picks up the id of the method called. I am now having difficulties to change the properties of the method (in the same folder as the form) with the following script: request=context.REQUEST jref=request.jref jtitle=request.jtitle cname=request.cname etc. etc. job=context.getitem(jref) job.manage_changeProperties( title=jtitle, navigation_title=jtitle, cname=cname, etc. etc. ,) I get the following error: Error Type: AttributeError Error Value: getitem I tried also doing job=context[jref] but that doesn't work either... ZMI icons 'gone pecan'
by Danny Morgan 19 Nov '02

19 Nov '02

I don't know if this is a function of an upgrade to Zope 2.6, or rather assigning a new icon to a zclass product I'm working on. In any event, the standard icons for folders, templates, and the like are reduced to text and x's. I have not yet been able to figure out cause or solution. Any help or pointers will be appreciated. Re: [Zope] Data.fs falls into 33GB hole

Packing fixed the problem, and I originally pooh-poohed this idea, because it would create another 30G file right? On second thought I think I'm wrong. It only exports the latest version of each object, skipping all prior history. If that's true, I could have exported it to a file (approximately 350MB) and imported it elsewhere. --- Jaroslav Lukesh <lukesh(a)k-net.cz> wrote: > | Odeslatel: Howard Hansen > <howardahansen(a)yahoo.com> > | 1) Can I safely pack a database this huge on my > live > | machine? > > Export to ZEXP and import at another Zope? > > REgards > > JL. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? parameters from dtml to python
by Jorg E. Rødsjø 19 Nov '02

19 Nov '02

I have an external method(python): def makePhoneList(searchString, *sortBy): Then I want to be able to call it in a dtml-document like so (wrong, I know, but to illustrate what I am looing for). <dtml-in expr="makePhoneList(searchString='foo', '<dtml-var sortBy1>', '<dtml-var sortBy2>')"> The sortBy1 and sortBy2 are variables in the DTML-document. But I am having problems with the arguments. Possibly due to the fact that my function specifies *sortBy as a list of parameters. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Jorg Rødsjø EDB-HF NTNU

19 Nov '02

Hello, i'm a Zope newbie from germany - 'Hi all !!' Now, here's my first problem: i'm trying to read my folder-hierarchy with a python script, which takes one arg (a folder object). The script runs fine, but the recursive 'script(subfolderObject)'-Call doesn't take effect. It seems, that nothing happens. But if I do an infinite recursion, Zope gives an error... Returnvalue of manage_addProduct
by Andreas Tille 19 Nov '02

19 Nov '02

Hello, I lilke to add some further properties to a newly created object. The object is created like this: new = container.manage_addProduct['ExtFile'].manage_addExtFile(id, \ id, desc, file) Now I wanted to add a further property using new.manage_addProperty(id, type, value) but I found out that new is 'None'. On the other hand I have seen in some examples that manage_addProduct does return the id of the new object. Any hint why it does not so when adding an 'ExtFile' object? What would be a clever method to obtain the new object quickly? Kind regards Andreas.
