Generic e-mail processing form

We've got some legacy e-mail forms on some sites that used a single, generic Perl script to process form fields and basically feed the name of each form element with the values entered to an e-mail. We've set up a generic e-mail form processor, but the problem with it is that iterating through REQUEST.form elements sorts the elements alphabetically, rather than in the order in which the elements are listed in the form. Any ideas on how to pull the form variables in the order in which they're listed? Thanks! - Chris cmuldrow(a)fredericksburg.com

Never could figure out how to change that.... Thanks for the advice anyway, lot's of friendly and knowledgeable people here. Dag

Redhat 8.0 and Zope

With the release of RedHat 8.0, a lot of good things have changed, with the manner in which they have dropped old legacy versions of Python 1.x, Perl 3.x and other OLD script sets. In addition, mod_python is now (supposedly) working correctly as an integrated module for Apache 2+. Will it be difficult to get a working Zope/mod_python duo? New to zope

Howdy all, I am new to Zope and python. I have configured a zope server and created a rudimentary site as a learning tool (see my sig). I have three concerns atm. 1. I find navigating the docs on zope.org an exercise in frustration. Can somebody point me to the reference that outlines what each of the default installations permissions mean? Like a glossary of terms .. something like "access transient objects means blah" as well as general settings recommendations. 2. Many of the examples I find in the docs just don't work. For instance, adding a zclass. Following the directions yields results nothing like those described in the docs. Is this a version problem? Python problem? Platform problem (development on XP, [live site is on debian, but no exports from one to the other has occurred yet because I have as yet to get windows ver working right it seems]). Following the advice of a local Zope guru, I downgraded my activestate python 2.2 to a vanilla python 2.1.3, and moved the zopesite from Program Files to the %systemroot% using windows uninstall and then reinstalling. Now zope refuses to start as a service and it seems to want to compile its modules against the python installation instead of its own native python (windows zope binary install). I also have three dead zope instances in my services tab in windows that I desperately want to get rid of as they refuse to go away. Silly me forgot to do a restore point before installing zope so stepping back is not an option. How can I uninstall python and zope completely from my system as if it wasn't there? Then for a winXP Pro SP1 box what is the recommended versions for stable and useful zope self-instruction. As far as Zope itself goes, I am in love with it. It is a brilliant concept that I can not wait to deploy. Newbie problem

Hello all, I'm learning Zope and I have a problem. I have tried the following example from "Iterating over Folder Contents", Chapter 4 of the Zope Book: <dtml-var standard_html_header> <ul> <dtml-in expr="objectValues('File')"> <li><a href="&dtml-absolute_url;"><dtml-var title_or_id></a></li> </dtml-in> </ul> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> The folder where this DTML document resides contains some files and folders, but when I run it, it doesn't show anything. It seems like objectValues is an empty list. My understanding of zope is still very limited, but I think this should work. What am I missing? I have tested with zope 2.5.1 for windows and linux (debian woody) with the same result. Any help will be apreciated. Mounted Storage / ZEO startup delay (30 seconds)

I'm using MountedStorage to share a common ZODB between multiple Zope instances. I'm using persistant client cache. yet every time I restart/startup my server, there's a 30 second delay incurred when accessing the storage. I'm wondering where this delay is coming from? Perhaps a reverse DNS timeout? I'm connecting on localhost, which is in /etc/hosts, so I don't think that's it. Zope on OpenBSD

I'm running Zope 2.5.1p1 (and CMF) on OpenBSD 3.1. It runs in separated mode, so Zope sits in /usr/local/lib/zope, while the Zope instance runs under a normal user in /home/zope with the database in /home/zope/var and the start script as: export INSTANCE_HOME=/home/zope export PYTHONHOME=/usr/local/lib/zope exec /usr/local/bin/python2.1 -O $PYTHONHOME/z2.py -D "$0" -p /home/zope/Zope.cgi (the exec statement is one line). All good, but I want to have zope autostart as the normal user (not root) by using /etc/rc.local. I have this in rc.local # Run zope if [ -x /usr/local/bin/python2.1 ]; then echo -n ' zope'; /home/zope/start fi But I think this doesn't work, and would start as root. Advice?
