RE: [Zope] NeoBoard - Stupid Newbie Questions

Hi Wankyu I just looked at NeoBoard 0.9.2 and I like it very much. Just the thing I've been looking for. I have developed my own board product quite some time ago. I also had the problem with stripping HTML and leaving a handset of HTML that users can use. I used this product: http://www.zope.org/Members/struktur/HTML2SafeHTML It isn't easy to use at first but it allows for detailed configuration and works like a charm. Now I have to see if I can migrate my Board-product to NeoBoard. That means work :-( Here are some things I've done additionally: * The email notification is a plaintext mail with a link to the exact location of the message. I do this because I use SSL for security reasons and don't want to send the content via email, where it can be read. * Mailnotification for the administrator of the Board when new messages get posted. (maybe I just missed that looking at NeoBoard) Oliver Erlewein

[ANN] ZWeather 0.1
by Jerome Alet 16 Jul '02

16 Jul '02

Hi, I'm pleased to announce ZWeather v0.1 ZWeather is a partial Python rewrite of the gnome weather applet, but integrated into Zope as a Python Product. ZWeather is distributed under the GNU General Public License Download it from : http://www.librelogiciel.com/software/ZWeather-0.1.tar.gz Extract it into your Zope Products directory, then restart Zope. Now you can add ZWeather instances, providing an id, title and a location code (most recognized location codes are in the file Locations which is included in the package, e.g. KJFK for New York JFK Airport) Then you'll be able to view current weather information for this location. Weather information is cached for one hour, unless you modify the location code. I'd be very glad to receive comments on this very early release. Thanks in advance for any feedback. Jerome Alet

zope error

Hi there, I found following zope errors on the "zope startup" python screen. Though the zope apps work well, I want to know what happened base on these errors. Many thanks Yan 2002-06-12T01:15:38 ERROR<200> ZServer Bad Http request : 'CONNECT mx1.mail.yahoo.com:25 / HTTP/1.0 2002-06-12T17:40:47 ERROR<200> ZServer Bad Http request : 'CONNECT mx1.mail.yahoo.com:25 / HTTP/1.0 2002-07-10T22:51:15 ERROR<200> ZServer uncaptured python exception, closing channel <zhttp_channel connected 65.94.39.78:3916 at 2d54dac channel1#: 6532 requests:> <exception.IndexError: list index out of range [d:\zope\website\bin\lib\asyncore.py | poll | 95] [d:\zope\website\bin\lib\asyncore.py | handle_read-event | 383] [D:\Zope\Website\ZServer\medusa\asynchat.py | handle_read | 131] [D:\Zope\Website\ZServer\medusa\http_server.py | found_terminator | 492] [D:\Zope\Website\ZServer\medusa\http_server.py | join_headers | 697]>] 2002-07-10T22:51:19 ERROR<200> ZServer uncaptured python exception, closing channel <zhttp_channel connected 65.94.39.78:3961 at 2d50d6c channel1#: 6536 requests:> <exception.IndexError: list index out of range [d:\zope\website\bin\lib\asyncore.py | poll | 95] [d:\zope\website\bin\lib\asyncore.py | handle_read-event | 383] [D:\Zope\Website\ZServer\medusa\asynchat.py | handle_read | 131] [D:\Zope\Website\ZServer\medusa\http_server.py | found_terminator | 149] [D:\Zope\Website\ZServer\medusa\http_server.py | join_headers | 697]>] __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Complete data loss - help please
by P Kirk 15 Jul '02

15 Jul '02

Hi all, As part of an effort to get Zope and Apache playing together, I made some changes to my setup. I moved Zope's port from 80 to 8080 and gave it /tmp/zope.soc as a socket as opposed to just -w 80. Being a bear of little brain, I couldn't make the proxy stuff work. I changed everything back. And suddenly it was like a fresh installation, with no way to login. Couldn't login at all. Reran zpasswd. Zope restarts. I login. My ACL user list is empty as are two test sites I was using to learn zope. Actually empty isn't the right word - they are completely gone. One of them had a lot of stuff in it I don't have copies of anywhere else. Where is my content gone? Surely moving port doesn't result in total data loss? What do I need to do to see it again? Help please! Patrick

Using Python Script to move objects from one directory to another
by Alexander M Hottenstein 15 Jul '02

15 Jul '02

I am attempting to use a file management button to move objects from one directory to another. Currently I am using a submit button which passes to a dtml method which passes the object id to the python script which cuts and pastes the object to the correct spot. For some reason this does not work. The DTML method is as follows: <dtml-if release_box> <dtml-in release_box> <dtml-let temp=sequence-item> <dtml-call expr="archive_items(release_box = temp)"> </dtml-let> </dtml-in> </dtml-if> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect('manage_main')"> Where the variable release_box represents a set of checkboxes. The python script is as follows: cb_copy_data = context.manage_cutObjects(ids=[release_box]) return context.archive.manage_pasteObjects(cb_copy_data) with the parameter list being: release_box If you have any idea what might be wrong, let me know - Alex

Using <dtml-in> to view multiple object types
by Alexander M Hottenstein 15 Jul '02

15 Jul '02

I am attempting to use the dtml-in tag to view two different types of objects, but am having trouble getting these to display for some reason: This is the code that I am currently using: <dtml-in expr="objectValues('Press_Release') or objectValues('Press_Release_Link')"> </dtml-in> But this is only outputting the Press_Release object and not the Press_Release_Link type. What are the changes that I need to get this to work correctly? - Alex

How to get name of calling DTML or script..
by Kevin Carlson 15 Jul '02

15 Jul '02

I have a python script which needs to redirect the browser to the page that called the script. In other words, if I am on the a page called "test" and I call a script named "blah", I want the blah script to do the following (among other things): ... context.request.RESPONSE.redirect(x) where x is the name or URL of the page that called the script. Make sense? Any ideas? Kevin

Searching catalog via substring
by Reineke 15 Jul '02

15 Jul '02

Hi, I have got a ZCatalog, named "catalog" and 2 automatically-mady-by-zope-DTML-methods "search" and "report". The "search"-form submits the variable "title" to "report" which <dtml-in>s over the catalog. For example: http://server.domain.com/report?title=something So far, so good. When the title contains "something" as a word, the object is found. What I would like to do is automatically searching with "*" concatenated to the beginning and to the end of the searchstring, so the object "something" is found when the user enters only "some" or "thing". Can anyone point me to the right direction? Many thanks in advance. Lars Reineke
