I want to use a <dtml-in "objectValues(['File'])"> to access the Files from the parent directory. I know I can do this if I know the name of the directory, but this directory name changes. Is there any way of directly accessing the parent directory? - Alex Hottenstein

Email Client
by low kian seong 14 Jul '02

14 Jul '02

I am trying to install an email client that runs on top of sendmail on my zope server. I am looking into using Bobomail. My problem : I want to create an interface for the administrator to create users and add their names to the server so that they will have an email client. Currently my zope server run on a postgresql database.I have found a patch from blue labs but my problem so far I cannot even get the Bobomail to detect my users list. I am sorry if this isn't the place for this but then there doesn't seem to be much activity going on that mailing list. Has anybody done a similar thing ? ... I would appreciate some suggestions -- Get your free email from www.linuxmail.org Powered by Outblaze

ZCatalog: how to get rid of deleted objects?
by Robert Rottermann 14 Jul '02

14 Jul '02

Some of the brains I get from a ZCatalog search return none as the result of getObject(). Does that mean the corresponding object has been deleted with being uncataloged? How do I clean them from the catalog. Reindex wont do it? thanks Robert

dtml-methods in CMF/Plone ?
by Oliver Skiebe 14 Jul '02

14 Jul '02

hi, we´re developing an application with lots of dtml-methods which call sql-methods and want to use cmf resp. plone as the content management framework ;-) all i can add inside a plone folder are generic plone/cmf objects: documents and stuff - adding a dtml-method with <dtml-var standard_html_header> and <dtml-var standard_html_footer> works, but calling it fails with "portal_url not found" tried that some weeks ago with an older cmf version, which worked out o.k. is there a way to use dtml-methods in a cmf resp. plone site / does it require special variables being passed? thank you a lot for any hints, oliver

DTMLDocumentExt and Versions
by Maik Jablonski 14 Jul '02

14 Jul '02

hi, I have a problem with Caseys DTMLDocumentExt (http://www.zope.org/Members/Kaivo/DTMLDocumentExt) which makes DTML-Documents CatalogAware. Maybe this is a problem for all CatalogAware-Products... When a user edits a document in a version, the Catalog will be updated in this version. If the next user wants to edit another document he gets an "VersionLockError" because the Catalog is locked by the version of the previous user. So versions won't work with DTMLDocumentExt if more than one version is in use. any suggestions or workarounds? thank you, maik -- Maik Jablonski __o www.zfl.uni-bielefeld.de _ \<_ Deutsche Zope User Group Bielefeld, Germany (_)/(_) www.dzug.org

ZClass object/data modeling question
by mlilly＠tinorb.com 14 Jul '02

14 Jul '02

Greetings, I am setting up an application that will have a project object/class, and each project can have multiple tasks, multiple deliverables, and multiple team members. How best to represent this in Zope ZClasses?? As i see it, the options are: 1. use ZClass sub-objects. This seems unstable or not well liked by the community. OR 2. give each task, deliverable, and team-member class an attribute of project_id to bind them to the parent project class (like a foreign key relationship in RDBMS's) OR 3. use python and create "real" classes. this would require me to spend more time learning/building the class libraries, but if it's the much preferred solution, i will. Any thoughts are much welcome. Thanks, mark -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ .
