catalog-aware z-classes
by Ben Avery 04 Jul '02

04 Jul '02

Hi, I need to create a number of z-classes to represent objects, and want them to be catalog aware, with each having its own catalog. The example in the Zope book requires the catalog to have the id 'Catalog' or it won't work, as this is the default for ZCatalog-aware objects. But I'll need different ids, as I have more than one catalog. How can I override this default? thanks, Ben Avery

Simple Knowledge Base App
by Chuck Ross 04 Jul '02

04 Jul '02

Hello, I have been tasked with creating a Knowledge Base for our company. I stumbled onto Zope after a long web search. After downloading and playing with Zope it looks like it will do the job. 3 questions: 1. Can anyone point me to documentation on the KnowledgeKit product? I have downloaded and installed it in Zope but it contains no documentation and the Examples included will not load into Zope. 2. Can anyone point me to a good reference guide/ book on Zope? One that has good coverage of Catalogs since this seems like the direction to take for a searchable technote repository. 3. Is the KnowledgeKit overkill for a small (<1000 items) searchable, technote repository? Thanks Chuck chuckr(a)signiant.com

Re: [Zope] ssh tunnel with zope?

[sorry if you get this twice, i forgot to check the addy] >Has anybody got a passive FTP tunnel working over ssh >to a Zope server? It works, but it is a hassle as I do not have accounts for all of the zope users, nor the time and energy to train them how to use scp and command line ftp tools. That said, you might want to look at something called "zip folder" or the like. You upload a zipfile to zope with all of your images contained and it unpacks them and puts them in a folder. I have not tried it, but it might do just what you need. _________________________________________________________________ Join the worlds largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com

ssh tunnel with zope?
by Zope Ista 03 Jul '02

03 Jul '02

Has anybody got a passive FTP tunnel working over ssh to a Zope server? I looked around on Zope.org for a howto or other tips and none were to be had. I'm simply listening on port 21 and forwarding that 127.0.0.1 on the remote server. WebDAV tunnels without a problem but is problematic on bulk uploads. Uploading one or two files at a time is fine but more than that causes it to go into a tailspin and crash the Zope server (2.5.1). Any tips would be most welcome (including "yeah, you can't do that FTP thing"). __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Sign up for SBC Yahoo! Access and work with dynamic key and var in a python product ?
by Roger 03 Jul '02

03 Jul '02

Hello again, How can i set variabels in a ZPT and send it over a link to a method from a Python Product. The method should generate a dynamic result page. The PROBLEM is, the variabels are dynamic an the method should can collect the key and variabels. I have no access to the REQUEST in the method. example: <span tal:define="global key1 python:request.set('key1','value1'"></span> <a href="result.zpt">link</a> or: <a href tal:attributes="result.zpt?key1=${key1}">link</a> in both way I can't access the key's and var's over the REQUEST.items() or REQUEST.form.items() (of corse i have no form). How can I do that. Remind: The key's and values's are dynamic generated !!! Otherwise ist not a problem. Thanks for a tip Mit freundlichen Grüssen Roger Ineichen ___________________________ Projekt01 GmbH www.projekt01.ch Langackerstrasse 8 6330 Cham phone +41 (0)41 781 01 78 mobile +41 (0)79 340 52 32 fax +41 (0)41 781 00 78 email r.ineichen(a)projekt01.ch ___________________________ END OF MESSAGE
