"Diffing" between the versions of a property

Hello everybody, Would it be possible through a script to compare ("diff") between the different successive versions of a property (as you can do for the contents of a DTML document or method, through the "compare" button of the history tab)? I tried to write a Python script (ven External) but the import of the necessary ndiff module does not seem to be allowed. Any hint? Pierre Godefroy

Stupid newbie question

Hello everyone. I have a small problem. I was trying to install the etcUserFolder object on my Zope server so I downloaded the tarball and it extracted into the correct directory (lib/python/Products/etcUserFolder). I had to muck about with some sym-links to libcrypt on my box (It's running FreeBSD 4.4) and after a few restarts, it saw it as a successfully installed product. I then proceeded to delete my root acl_users folder (it only had one entry in it anyway) and add a new etcUserFolder object. Now I can't login at all to any of the manage screens to fix it. I tried the zpasswd.py script to generate an access (and an inituser) file to see if either of these would get picked up but it still won't let me log in. I tried using my UNIX system username and password and that didn't work either. I know that FreeBSD actually uses a /etc/master.passwd file to hold the encrypted passwords, not /etc/passwd so I don't even know if the etcUserFolder is looking at the right file. The documentation on this product is limited (from what I can find) to the two-paragraph README file that it comes distributed with. I've tried looking through the source code to see if I could get more information about the product but the comments aren't very helpful. I'm at the end of my ideas and short of scrapping the whole installation, can anyone suggest a way for me to fix this problem? If it's simply not possible (which I doubt), is there a way for me to retrieve the objects (DTML documents and such) that I've created and just re-install Zope completely? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, David Archer

I try to write zsql method with behaviour based on result from another zsql method (simple select count(x) from table where x=...). If there are records for x i want to do something, but if not, something else. I tried to write something like that (x is an parameter of both zsql methods): <dtml-call zsql_count> <dtml if expr=""> something <dtml-else> something else </dtml-if> I dont know what to write as <dtml-if> expression. I'm running Zope 2.5.1 under Debian Woody and the latest version of TransparentFolders that I could find on zope.org (0.3.2). I just created a simple test case: /test/ << folder tf/ << transparent folder hidden << dtml method index_html << dtml document index_html contains only "<dtml-var hidden>" Using Zope 2.4.2 under Debian Woody, I see the text contained in hidden when I view index_html. Under Zope 2.5.1, I get the error... Error Type: KeyError Error Value: hidden ...with the following traceback... You may be able to save off your data.fs, reinstall zope, the attach your old data.fs as mountable storage? I have never used mountable storage, so I have no idea if this would work or not. So if in todays view I have no programming skills, should I begin to learn Python? It is good starting point? importing/exporting

I'm new to Zope, and decided to play around with it at home for a few hours. I built up a small site, and decided to export it out, and mail it to myself in work, where I uploaded it to a Zope server there. When exporting, I clicked on 'import/export' in the root folder, I didn't give an export object id (assuming it would just choose /) and clicked 'Export'. I got a 2MB file (big, considering I'd typed in maybe 5k of HTML and 100k of images). I imported that into the Zope server in work. It seemed to be OK, only that it created a folder called 'Zope' and stuck it in there. I decided to try move the folders & DTML documents from /Zope to /, with cut & paste, but I kept getting errors like: " One or more items referred to in the clipboard data was not found. The item may have been moved or deleted after you copied it. " Also, I noticed that I had been using a gadfly database - the import did not create a /var/zope/var/gadfly directory at all, so any time I tryed to access those methods, it was throwing me errors ! Have I done something incorrectly ? Or does the import/export functionality not work in 2.5.x ? Embedding absolute_url in TAL Syntax

OK, now that I have my table of objects produced by a Python script working in ZPT, I need to figure out how to connect an entry in the table to its URL. What is the TAL equivalent of: <td><a href="<dtml-var absolute_url>"><dtml-var title></a></td> It *seemed* like I should be able to code: <td><a href="tal:content='item/absolute_url'"><tal:content="item/title"></a></td> But that creates a compilation error in the TAL HTML Parser. Maybe it's a quoting thing (which I had sort of hoped would be cleaner in ZPT than it is with DTML stuff) but I can't find anything in the docs about using absolute_url in TAL, so I'm kinda stuck.
