desperate for some help here

Hi all, I have a method in acl_users called logout (which calls a py function in my product) and try to use the method from a doc that could be anywhere in the site. The error I get is: Error Type: Unauthorized Error Value: You are not allowed to access user_logout in this context The method logout : <dtml-call "user_logout"> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect('/test_folder/logged_out')"> The call from another doc (could be anywhere) <a href="<dtml-var "acl_users.log_out.absolute_url()">" class="link">LOGOUT</a> I found some links on the zope site dealing with context switches but they werent very helpful. Primarily they said about being careful as to what object I put stuff in, I tried making the logout method a DTML doc with the same result. How do I get around this problem? Hi all: Thanks for your help. In the end I had to use this ugly thing, but it works, slightly dissapointed I could not get sqltest & sqlgroup to work....maybe I'll have to time to dig deeper later, and understand it better when I increase my Zope Zen ;-). Hi! I have the following directory structure layout | `-- retro `-- classic `-- somethingelse I want to get the objects inside one of the style-directory from a python program, chosen by a variable that is set. So i have a variable style="retro" and I want to access the objects in the retro-Folder. What do I do? Normally I would access the contents via context.layout.retro.objectValues() - now i need something like context.layout.(style).objectValues(). Is this possible? How? Bye Peter

Performance related to content loops/depth

Bear with me, I'm a sysadmin, not a developer. I'm maintaining a Zope 2.5.1 server with Python 2.1.3 on Solaris 7. We recently upgraded from Zope 2.3.1. I'm seeing a problem where, occasionally, a bot will come along to index our site and suddenly Zope stops responding to all requests. It looks like what is happening is that the bot finds a loop in the content where each time you click on a link, you are returned to the same page, but the URL has one more level of depth. For example, I see requests in the log file for things like this: siteroot/info/catalog/catalog/catalog/catalog/catalog/catalog/catalog/catalo g/catalog/catalog/catalog/catalog/catalog/catalog/catalog When a bot hits this it keeps going deeper and deeper until we deny access to the bot. When I request a URL like that in my browser, even just one time, Python's CPU usage shoots to near 100%, and stays there for several seconds. If I keep clicking on the link to go deeper, it doesn't take long for it to effectively become a denial of service attack, because the processing time required to process each request seems to grow more and more as you go deeper. Is there any way to stop this from happening? Obviously we want to remove loops like this from the content, but as I said, I'm the sysadmin, not the developer. Any input is appreciated!

making authentication permanent?

Hi, I would like to make authentication permanent (ie once successfully logged in, no relogin required after closing browser). I've set the 'cookie lifetime' to 600 days but this does not seem to help. Anyone knows how to achieve this permanent authentication?
