Cannot determine exception cause

Please help a fledgling Zope user who is trying to build his first Zope site! I have a database in which there is a table of "activity groups" which can be obtained from the selectActivityGroups ZSQL. This works fine. The document which produces this page is ListGroups. From ListGroups I can click the Edit button to get toe the EditAGroup page. This also works fine and the selected record's values are transferred correctly. When I click the Save button, the UpdateAGroup document is accessed which, in turn, accesses the UpdateGroup ZSQL. When this is done an error occurs which causes the exception to be raised in UpdateAGroup. 1. How can I detect further what the cause of the exception is? 2. Why does the error message come out "Error while saving group _['dbid']" instead of translating the dbid value? *Simple* Zope product to implement a collaborative Web site

I'm looking for a *simple* Zope (Zope is not really mandatory but I like it and this is a Zope list after all) product to implement a collaborative Web site. A sort of poor man's Web Content Management system. Here are my main requirments: 1) Ability for the registered users to add easily any type of files (.pdf, .dvi, .txt and even .html). 2) Shrink-wrapped software, I don't have the time right now to develop a custom application. 3) (If possible.) History of changes, deletions, etc. I considered Portal For All <URL:http://www.zope.org/Members/dgeorgieff/popoto> which seems fine and CMF which seems overkill. Any suggestion?

Subclassing Folder

I want to create a new type of folder that, when created, brings some specific properties and contents along with it. I presume I will want to use a ZClass for this, but given all the warnings I've received about their relative fragility, I wanted to check with the list to be sure I'm not either overlooking a better solution or acting in ignorance of a packaged solution.

ZOracleDA(dco2)/Win2K - doesn't work from service

Hello, I've a setup: Zope 2.5.0 with INSTANCE_HOME Windows 2000 server Oracle 8i 8.1.7 client ZOracleDA (dcoracle2) 1.1 When I run Zope from command line, everything is fine. When it is run as a service, the product doesn't give any error. But when you try to open a ZOracleDA connection, it raises an error in connect.py. The same DB connection works flawlessly when Zope is started using the batch file. I've - cross checked the parameters in the registry and batch file. Same. - Recompiled ZOracleDA binary - Moved ZOracleDA from INSTANCE_HOME/Products to lib/python/Products and back Our sysadmin would like to run Zope as a service. I'm at my wits end with this now! Any hints/suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks in advance - vsbabu

Fwd: Help with Ldap Setup

Howdy people. After a week of hard work, now i can have some time for NZO again. Today, I tried to get ldap membership working, but no clue yet. Well, almost. I have a LDAP Server working, zopeOrg Schema installed in place and tried to import zope_org.ldif. It gave me just one error, seems like it couldnt import ou=cvsaccess. I've lost the message. Attached there is a slapcat of my database. Then i modified the External Method setupZopeOrgMembership to fit my setup and ran it. It just failed in the step where it sets up the skins. i commented this part out and then it worked. But now i have a problem that i couldnt figure out how to fix: On the LDAP User Folder, in the Groups tab i have the following message: ###Error###: Cannot find (|(uniquemember=*)(member=*)) ... And if i try to add a group: An Error occurred: Error Type: No such object Server Message: parent does not exist (2002-05-27 17:34) Seems to be something simple, but all this ldap thing is a little beyond my understanding. I tried to use LDAP User Folder for 6 times until today, and just got it to work once, so, if anyone knows how to fix this (maybe Jens) i would be glad if you can help me. Permission for a method

Hi, is there a permission that prohibits access to the "manage_renameObject" method? I'm currently facing the following problem: Just the superuser can create a new document and can set an ID for it. If a user creates a document and sets an ID, an error occurs. Something like "AttributeError" and "manage_renameObject". If the user doesn't enter an ID and lets it generate automatically there is no problem. Has someone any ideas? regards Lars
