Hi, does anybody know how to get ExternalEditor working with CookieCrumbler? This is what I use to pull the last 3 dates from my squishdot site (without stuff in parens) <dtml-with expr="squishdot_site"> (squishdot folderish/object) <dtml-var articles_html> (copied code from "squishdot/rightbox_methods/prev_articles) </dtml-with> (close tag) Same concept with my CMF site <dtml-with expr="CMF"> <dtml-var cmf_news> </dtml-with> I pull both CMF News and Squishdot News to my front page. Anyone posting to my CMF or Squishdot site will see there posting headline on the fron page. DTML-less tutorials for product building?

Can someone suggest any tutorials that focus on non-trivial product/application development using only TAL/TALES, CMF and Python Scripts? DTML seems like a bad hack and from lurking on the mailing lists it seems like it's going to become a deprecated technology anyway. Vic

Major Problems

It's 6:33 am on Tuesday and the cluster is acting very strange. Actually it seems to be having problems similar to those we had when the load balancing was not working. Accept it seems to sending out completely random objects for each request. -Brian

Hi list, I am new to Zope and I am stuck with this problem: I have created folders and subfolders and I now need to retrieve the content of these subfolders and display it in the home page. Let's say I have 4 different folders, each one has 3 subfolders and each subfolder has a list of articles or news_items. How can I import the content of the last article published in a specified subfolders, in the homepage? or the last news_item published in a specified subfolder into the index_html of the homepage? thanks for helping Luca

Hi all - I have a file that needs to be customized on download and I would like to know how to do this in a Python script. My first attempt: return container.downloadFile() complained about the call. Removing the () seems to work better, but it is still far from clear to me how I - Obtain the content of a specific id in a given container; - Modify that content; - Return that content; Any clues gratefully accepted. Calling object from ZPT

Hi all, For my Newsproduct I want to call a navigation menu. For my websites I allways use NFGNav, so I want to call NFGNav from my Zope Page Template. This is the layout of the site: 0 1 2 Root - nfgnav News - ZPT News News So my ZPT is used for the rendering of the parents News object (level 1) and the child news objects (level 2). I used to call nfgnav from dtml like this: <dtml-var "nfgnav.TreeMenu(PARENTS,REQUEST,initlevel=2,Meta_Types='News',sort='navsort')"> So I want to call nfgnav a level higher then the ZPT. Can somebody help me with this problem? Greetz Nico

How do reset a dtml-var

Hi, I am trying to check to see if the dtml-var revision is set to a null and if it is I want to set it to "%" as a sql wildcard. This is my test. <dtml-if expr="revision==''"> <dtml-var revision>test if1 <dtml-let revision="'%'"> <dtml-var revision>test if2 </dtml-let> <dtml-var revision>test if3 </dtml-if> Here are my results. test if1 %test if2 test if3 How come the variable is not set after I leave dtml-let statement?
