Additional 256MB of RAM should give cvs.zope.org a little more breathing room. Maintenance is done, all services should be running and collector.zope.org should be running fine now. -- Matt Burleigh Systems Administrator, Zope Corporation http://www.zope.com http://www.zope.org

Passing parameters via URL
by Raj NS 25 Apr '02

25 Apr '02

hi group. I'm in small problem ( i guess ). I have made a product , and inside which everytime i call something like http://localhost:8080/something?foo=bar i get a ZOPE error saying unable to send a variable foo .. check url .. try again ..and blah blah ... frankly, i tried this on netscape 4.77 and again later i tried it on IE it was working fine . Now someone told me netscape 4.7x is buggy u need some urldecoders/encodes ... here goes the codes ############ ... print '</form>' print '<form action='+container.absolute_url()+'/conversion?tex_url='+tex_url+'&tex_id='+tex_id+'method="POST">' print '<input type="submit" value="Convert" name="Convert"></a></p>' print '</form>' ... ############ this calls conversion.py ( which takes params tex_url,tex_id) here is my unfinished product url http://www.geocities.com/rajns/zope/Pustak.zip hope i get this working -regards Raj ________________________________________________________________________ For live cricket scores download Yahoo! Upgrading 2.5.0 -> 2.5.1 with source upgrader
by Gilles Lenfant 25 Apr '02

25 Apr '02

Hi, I downloaded and unarchived the 2.5.0 -> 2.5.1 source patch at the proper location. This patch contains C source files, and I did'nt see any indication to compile those files. Running "python wo_pcgi.py" raises errors and does not the job because of ".py" files from CMF skins cannot be compiled to .pyc or .pyo ("return" outside of a function/method) How can I complete the installation ? Did I miss something ? Thanks in advance. My config : FreeBSD 4.5 and Python 2.1.3 --Gilles

Overriding aquisition
by oliver.erlewein＠sqs.de 25 Apr '02

25 Apr '02

Hi all I want to call a specific function in my Zope hierarchy via DTML. This would give me the result that aquisition can only find ONE document. To do this I can do: <dtml-with "PARENTS[-1].sqs.standard"> <dtml-var "standardUserIsManager()"> </dtml-with> But that's too complex. I want to use <dtml-var "PARENTS[-1].sqs.standard.standardUserIsManager()"> (or something similar!) Any clues or other hints? Thanx Oliver Erlewein

Hi Ruger, You really need to keep posting to the list so other people can jump in and help :-) "D.Rick Anderson" wrote: > > Thanks for the reply. I'm afraid my newbiness is showing here. Yeah, SESSION is the Zope way of expressing the sessioning built into Zope as of 2.5.x... I dunno where the docs are but there are soem exampels of its use in the Examples folder in your running Zope. cheers, Chris

by William GARCIA 25 Apr '02

I try to send a mail to a user from a form. When I type my mail in the dtml-code, there is no problem but when I intend to use <dtml-var name="mail">, Zope generate this error : Error Type: TypeError Error Value: len() of unsized object I have try to use smtphost tag instead of mailhost but the error generated is the same. Is it a problem of proxy, port number, or user's permissions which could'nt send mail, or only a syntax error?? If somebody know the answer... Thanks in advance, William Here is the code I wrote : Form (DTML document) <form action="sendMailUser"> L'image que vous avez soumise, ainsi que son contenu, vont maintenant être contrôlés par nos managers.<br> Saisissez votre e-mail si vous désirez être tenu au courant de l'étape de mise en ligne.<br> Name : <input name=name size=40> Email : <input name=mail size=40> <input type="submit" value="Valider"> </form> sendMailUser(DTML method) <dtml-sendmail mailhost="MailHost"> To: "wgarcia(a)esrf.fr" From: <dtml-var name="mail"> Subject: ESRF : Image Name: <dtml-var name="name"> Email:<dtml-var name="mail"> Order: Soumission en cours </dtml-sendmail> Traceback (innermost last): File /zope/Zope-2.5.0-solaris-2.6-sparc/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 150, in publish_module File /zope/Zope-2.5.0-solaris-2.6-sparc/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 114, in publish File /zope/Zope-2.5.0-solaris-2.6-sparc/lib/python/Zope/__init__.py, line 159, in zpublisher_exception_hook (Object: recherche_indexation) File /zope/Zope-2.5.0-solaris-2.6-sparc/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 98, in publish File /zope/Zope-2.5.0-solaris-2.6-sparc/lib/python/ZPublisher/mapply.py, line 88, in mapply (Object: sendMailUser) File /zope/Zope-2.5.0-solaris-2.6-sparc/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 39, in call_object (Object: sendMailUser) File /zope/Zope-2.5.0-solaris-2.6-sparc/lib/python/OFS/DTMLMethod.py, line 127, in __call__ (Object: sendMailUser) File /zope/Zope-2.5.0-solaris-2.6-sparc/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_String.py, line 473, in __call__ (Object: sendMailUser) File /zope/Zope-2.5.0-solaris-2.6-sparc/lib/python/Products/MailHost/SendMailTag.py, line 116, in render (Object: MailHost) File /zope/Zope-2.5.0-solaris-2.6-sparc/lib/python/Products/MailHost/MailHost.py, line 156, in send (Object: MailHost) File /zope/Zope-2.5.0-solaris-2.6-sparc/lib/python/Products/MailHost/MailHost.py, line 201, in _send (Object: MailHost) File /opt/Python-2.1.3/lib/python2.1/smtplib.py, line 479, in sendmail File /opt/Python-2.1.3/lib/python2.1/smtplib.py, line 361, in mail File /opt/Python-2.1.3/lib/python2.1/smtplib.py, line 122, in quoteaddr File /opt/Python-2.1.3/lib/python2.1/rfc822.py, line 475, in parseaddr File /opt/Python-2.1.3/lib/python2.1/rfc822.py, line 520, in getaddrlist File /opt/Python-2.1.3/lib/python2.1/rfc822.py, line 528, in getaddress File /opt/Python-2.1.3/lib/python2.1/rfc822.py, line 508, in gotonext TypeError: (see above)

Re: Backporting for PHParser to Zope-2.3.3
by Maik Jablonski 25 Apr '02

hi dirk, if I remember right, popen2 was not a method of 'os' in 1.5.2... so: - look for something equivalent to popen2 in 1.5.2...:-) or - backport popen2 to 1.5.2...:-( or - upgrade to Zope-2.5x ... (it's really nice) ;-) greetings, maik. Re: [Zope-CMF] Searching CMF returns all objects
by Josef Meile 25 Apr '02

I ran into the same problem. Then, I just start to do whatever I found and then I discovered that the CMF guys change the following line of the "search" method: <dtml-let results=portal_catalog> the new one should be: <dtml-let results="doFormSearch( REQUEST=REQUEST )"> I changed it and it solved my problem. Hope it helps, greetings, Josef.

AWStats 4 and Zope Logging
by hpinson＠indepthl.com 25 Apr '02

25 Apr '02

Just got AWStats 4 to work with the z2.log where version 3 of AWStats would not process the log. Very nice. http://awstats.sourceforge.net/ Now to figure out how to get AWStats not to show my global_css as the top viewed document. AWStats does not seem to like extensionless objects.
