DTML type casting?
by davis marques 25 Apr '02

>So it seems that this should do the job: > > <dtml-if "ProjectID in projectfiles.fileIds()"> > The directory "&dtml-ProjectID;" exists > <dtml-else> > "&dtml-ProjectID;" does not exist > </dtml-if> I've tried the above already and it didn't work. The only way it works right now is if I manually enter a string to match (ex. '202006'). ProjectID is the name of a field being pulled from a database query. I'm wondering if I somehow have to cast it as a string, or ? Re: [zope] extra data for users

You don't need to import them like you would in pure Python. You acquire the tools through Zope. "context.portal_registration" will probably get the registration tool in a Python script, for instance. Large file support as default for win32 Zope binaries
by Ausum Studio 25 Apr '02

25 Apr '02

Would it be possible for ZC people to publish Zope binaries with Python enabled to support large files, as default or as an optional download, al least for W2K? . I know I have the option to build Python on my own, but on the other hand most of us win32 users have Zope installed on NT/W2K boxes, wich are already known to support large files. Ausum

Problem in ZOPE-MySQL connectivity..dll mismatch problem
by Surajit Sengupta 25 Apr '02

25 Apr '02

Hello, I'm using ZOPE Version 2.0, which is using the Python 2.1.2. Now I want to make a connectivity of ZOPE with MySQL. I've I'm using in Windows 2000 platform 1.. Downloaded the Python-MySQL Interface(Version 0.9.0) [MySQLdb] 2.. Downloaded the ZOPE MySQL database Adapter (Version 2.0.8) [ZMySQLDA] 3.. Built MySQLdb(0.9.0) 4.. Installed MySQLdb(0.9.0) 5.. Inflated ZMySQLDA in required directory ***Problems found : dll version mismatch After running the ZOPE server: Following errors are generated 2002-04-23T06:49:32 ERROR(200) Zope Could not import Products.MySQLdb Traceback (innermost last): File C:\PROGRA~1\Zope\lib\python\OFS\Application.py, line 531, in import_product File MySQLdb\__init__.py, line 27, in ? ImportError: Module use of python20.dll conflicts with this version of Python. Anticipations : In C:\Program Files\Zope\bin there is python21.dll which I think the latest dll which the python exe of our ZOPE version is using. After putting it to the c:\winnt\system32 and registering it, the same error is coming. During the run of Zope server __init__ of ZMySQLDA is importing _mysql.pyd which is generating the error as it is searching for python20.dll(NOT python21.dll). I have a python20.dll also in my c:\winnt\system32, its version also does not match with the python exe our ZOPE version is using. I don't know what to do Help required Regards Surajit

Re: [Zope] Installing Zope 2.5.0 Stable release and Python 2.1.2

If your Zope version required a version of python 2, you should be using 2.1.3. 2.2.x is only suitable for Zope3x, and other versions of python 2.x have known bugs that Zope manages to trigger. how to create Zope-Fictures for Unit-test
by Robert Rottermann 24 Apr '02

24 Apr '02

Hi there, I am trying to create a set of Unittests. To start I have to create an environment with a large number of object in it. I would like to create them before the first test runs and destroy them afterwards. How can I do that. The samples I found so far asume that the environment is set up in the setup method and destroyed in the teardonw method. My atempts to to make them survive a coupple of test have been in vain so far. This is my code I use to open a connection: def test_suite ( ) : connection = Zope.DB.open('mydata.fs')#("K:/Programme/zope2.5/zope/var/Data.fs") r = connection.root() a = Application() r['Application'] = a root = a rediTestSuite = unittest.TestSuite() # create a folder to put environment in rediTestSuite.addTest(InfoTest(root=root, methodName='CreateTestFolder')) # add environment #---------- fails ------------- # since it needs the folder that was created in the former test rediTestSuite.addTest(InfoTest(root=root, methodName='FillTestFolder')) connection.close() return rediTestSuite thanks for your input Robert www.redcor.ch

Upgrading python and zope on your box
by Heimo Laukkanen 24 Apr '02

24 Apr '02

Zope 2.5.1 is now released for some of us it is time to update our personal bozes. Here is a summary and possibly a really lame instruction on how to go through your own upgrading. Upgrading Zope and python ------------------------- All the commands are run as root. Paths may vary on your box. User that runs zope on my box is zope, which is just like nobody ,-) Remeber to take care of the permissions in the zope directory if you haven't allready done so. See the links at the bottom of this message. Python ------ Download the required Python source rpm Rebuild Python-rpm:s from the source-rpm rpm --rebuild pythonxx.xxx-x.src.rpm cd into rpm directory: example cd /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/ Install / Upgrade rpms: rpm -Uvh python2.1* ( you can also use the --force option ) After installing see which version python is running. Type python and see the version. If that is not what you expected, you migth want to delete old python from /usr/bin/ and create for example symlink to point to the rigth version. ln -s python2.1 python Zope ---- Download the required Zope linux package Gunzip and untar the package. cd into the directory run ./install ; it will compile the python modules create admin user and password for upgrade: zpasswd access write username and password according to instructions. make zope user own everything: chown -R zope.zope edit start script: pico -w start Add correct user to run zope with u parameter: -u zope Save start script and try it: ./start Zope should now start on port 8080 Try it out. Log in to the management screen with url http://SERVER-IP/manage Type in admin username and password. See that everything works. And after that go in the web browser to zope control-panel and select shutdown. now remove new var-directory: rm -rf var and also the access-file: rm access and copy everything over the old zope: cp -r * /path/of/old/zope cd to old zope: cd /path/of/old/zope Run the start script: ./start If it works, everything should be ok - and you are ready to start zope for real (next step). Possible causes for problems may be found for example in the var-directory. pcgi-pid or Data.fs-lock may cause stop Zserver from starting, so depending on error messages you migth want to destroy those. Start zope with old startup script: /etc/rc.d/init.d/zope start See what happens: /etc/rc.d/init.d/zope status Additional info: http://www.zope.org/Documentation/Misc/InstallingZope.html http://www.zope.org/Members/mcdonc/HowTos/zopeinstall/ZOPE-INSTALL-HOWTO -huima
